Once the slots are cut, slide the two cutouts together for a perfect pumpkin. They should fit together snugly because we aren’t using wood glue.
Paint all of the wood cutouts with white before you choose the final color. There’s two reasons for this. First, you’re going to leave the front white because that is where the napkin is going and you want the design to pop off. I cut my plywood using a circular saw and a straight-cut guide. I find it easier to cut large pieces of plywood on the ground. You can use them on your front porch or in your yard. You can use smaller ones to decorate a fall mantle or use them as a centerpiece on your dining table. Clean cut jigsaw blade– top and bottom cut jigsaw blades have the best results. This is a great fall DIY project if you’ve been looking for wooden pumpkin ideas or a fun project you can customized with different patterns and pumpkin designs.
