About this deal

The Unlimited's runtime is about 34 minutes in normal mode, which is relatively short compared to other premium cordless vacuums. As it is, the normal mode provides ineffectively low suction power. It’s of very little use in typical day-to-day household cleaning and I guarantee most users will simply default to the Turbo setting all the time. At which point, nine minutes is not much at all for general floor vacuuming duties. Good job Bosch supplies two batteries.

The Bosch Unlimited 8 has two vacuuming settings: normal and turbo. Likewise, the Bosch Unlimited 8 features three cleaning modes: eco, auto, and boost. In Turbo and Boost modes, these vacuums will, of course, have the most suction, making them the best cleaners they can be. Those are also the settings I used for my tests. Hard floors The dust cup of the Dyson V15 has a capacity of 0.75 liters, while that of the Bosch Unlimited 8 can house up to 0.4 liters of dust and dirt. Aside from the small capacity, the other thing I don’t like about the Bosch Unlimited 8’s cup is that I had to disassemble the unit entirely to empty the container. We all know that taste is a matter of dispute. In our opinion, the new Bosch Unlimited Pro Power cordless vacuum has a futuristic design, but its focus is on pragmatism. On carpet, a little more was left behind. I measured 96% of the spill collected, though a visible dusting remained after the first pass. I found it was best to employ the upholstery brush, as the velvety bristles had just enough agitation to gather the remnants from our short pile carpet. However, those huge runtime differences highlight the equally massive difference in suction power between modes, and we think Bosch has got it very wrong here. Close-to-edge cleaning was very impressive, and even close up, the Turbo mode delivered a decent clean in just this single run. It took a couple of passes to get rid of all the heavier carpet powder particles, but the good suction did well in one pass.

The Unlimited 8’s filter, on the other hand, has a fine mesh canister with a pleated filter inside. The producer advertises that this filter system can trap 99.9% of dust and dirt, like HEPA filters. It isn’t washable and can be rinsed by twisting the red handle on top, called Rotation Clean. The Unlimited 8’s filter can be rinsed by twisting the red handle on top On top of the body is the Turbo switch. That might not be as corny as Tesla’s ‘Insane’ power mode, but it seriously ramps up the BCS122GB’s suction. Runtime takes a nosedive accordingly. The Bosch Unlimited 8 has no screen. Instead, it has a small LED light on the top that will light up when vacuuming or charging. That is great, but adding a display would make it better. Attachments Bosch Unlimited 8 It’s not a big issue when vacuuming the floor, but it’s somewhat exhausting when cleaning the furniture for longer times. After all, the motor unit alone weighs about 2 kg (4.4 lbs). We assess the cleaning performance of each vacuum cleaner, compare it to the competition, and then rate it. The bin itself takes a little getting used to as it releases from the cleaner by tipping forward and away. Emptying is as simple as pulling out the filter unit and tipping out the contents. This is less powerful than the low power modes on all its key rivals. The Dyson V8 and V7 are far more powerful, as are the Xiaomi Roidmi F8 and X20 and the Shark DuoClean Wireless. Even the budget Beldray Airgility Max produces more suction than the Bosch at low power.
