About this deal

He has served as principal euphonium and featured soloist in University of Michigan Symphony Band, United States Navy Band, United States Bicentennial Band, United States Air force Band and the River City Brass Band. While the book is worth the money for these alone, Encore has made a few other improvements as well. This edition of the Arban Method revitalizes the timeless studies with a contemporary stylistic interpretation, catering to musicians of all proficiency levels who seek to refine their skills.

I’m an adult beginner, been playing about a month and have a teacher but wanted to get a book that seemed so obviously good and important. We are one of the top suppliers of woodwind, brass and orchestral strings across Sussex and are main agents for most of the instruments we sell. The range goes from very low Double Pedal D-flat to a high C (C5) an octave above middle C (C4) on the piano. And you can go back to the scale and interval section always to play them faster, softer, louder, with different articulations, etc. That's Bob McChesney and he confirms my assertion that it takes a world-class trombone player to rival a run-of-the-mill talented trumpet player on speed. His guidance in applying Arban's (trumpet) techniques to the trombone puts this book into a class by itself. However, if you would like to, you can change your settings at any time using the Change cookie settings link in the Special menu. Also, he has taken many of the most relevant and transposed them into different keys to maximize the effectiveness of the most valuable studies.

In the circumstances outlined above, we will do our best to contact you and inform you of any anticipated delays.Interlochen Center for the Arts' Chair of Low Brass Tom Riccobono showcases each essential exercise. It is surprisingly hard to do these in that style, even after you have the exercises worked up very well. Today, Alan Raph brings the Arban into the 21st century, enhancing and expanding the complete Arban text, and addressing new skills and techniques developed up to current times. Our selections of arrangements for Brass instruments have been chosen to aspire to the highest quality. Part 1 (98 pages) contains the following: Foreword, Introduction, Alto Trombone Slide Chart, First Studies, Rhythmic Studies, Studies on Syncopation, Dotted Eighth Note and Sixteenth Notes, 6/8 time, Studies on the Slur, Lip Slurs and Flexibility Studies, Major Scales, Chromatic Scales, and Chromatic Studies.

Isaiah - I have that Arban's book as well, however, the best one to have (particularly if you are seriously going to use it) is the one edited by Joe Alessi and Brian Bowman. A second, more musical part, made up of different songs, duets, works and characteristic studies to put into practice everything learned in a more interpretive context. Many people have read it from page 1 to the end, but most people in their daily use go to different sections, depending on their focus or study. If you want it to read in Bb (like the original Arban for trumpet, but in the Bass Clef, go for the euphonium version). The Arban Method for Trombone and Euphonium is globally acknowledged as the definitive standard for both instruments.Arban's fundamental method book for trumpet was first published in 1864 and has held a top spot in trumpet studies ever since. In re-editing the method, Raph has kept the Arban system intact, while adding some of his own insights with respect to how the trombone and baritone are taught today. Some of the fantasies do lay pretty well on the horn and that is where my best chance of speed can be achieved. Wayne Groves has arranged, edited, and compiled the entire method into 4 parts for the Alto Trombone. This edition is invaluable for performers wishing to build on their Alto Trombone technique as well as Tenor Trombonists wishing to improve their high register and alto clef reading.

If I was a Bass trombonist, I'd probably add a few more clef changes like Tenor down an octave, and Bass down an octave as well.Because everything we learn how to do makes everything else we already know how to do that much better. Those comments amount to practice tips, and may help Isaiah (and others) leverage the value in the book.
