About this deal

As a child I buried myself in books both at home in Essex and at my grandparents’ houses in Cornwall, where I spent a large part of my time, and where many of my stories are now set. Climate change and global warming is a huge problem but this utterly fabulous and uplifting book tells children all about the new inventions currently being worked on by scientists, from insects as a new food source to making fuel from fatbergs. Full of magical mayhem, this funny tale lightheartedly explores moving home, starting a new school and dealing with bullies.

Deliciously silly, with hilarious catchphrases, Joanna Nadin's The Worst Class in the World, illustrated with grubby glee by Rikin Parekh, is a great cheer-up book. In this book, the worst class cause mayhem having a biscuit competition seeing who can make the best however as they anger their headmistress especially at show and tell when pets are taken in chaos ensues! The mix of engaging adventure and cute animals, along with the many illustrations, will appeal hugely to young readers. A laugh-out-loud young fiction series from bestselling author Joanna Nadin, perfect for fans of Horrid Henry. With two side-splittingly funny short stories, it will delight mischievous children and strike fear into all teachers. This is full of all the fun stuff and weird stuff and all other things that makes kids (and adults tbh) love books. Rikin has a foundation degree from Camberwell College of Arts and a degree in illustration from the University of Westminster. Featuring 50 brilliant Indian women from history and the present day, Girl Power: Indian Women Who Took on the Worldis a truly inspirational read, with clearly laid out text and gorgeous painted portraits by Niloufer Wadia.

He’s an excellent master of disguise with a fondness for chocolate milk - shaken, not stirred, like all good spies - but he can sometimes find himself in sticky situations. And they definitely didn't LITERALLY mean to bring a penguin home from the zoo on their school trip.

This book is aimed at children (the 7 and 10 year olds in our family loved it), but I honestly enjoyed it just as much as they did. A thoroughly entertaining read, enhanced by marvellous graphite illustrations, full of character and humour. The second story sees the arrival of new girl, Bridget Pickersgill, who introduces her classmates to the concept of dares, challenging them to undertake some truly revolting tasks, with riotous results.
