Auren and Queen Malina are at the center of the action, and their different perspectives allow us to dive even deeper into their thoughts and feelings. Particularly towards the beginning, where studio backdrops and the drama of black and white shots combine in an evocation of glamorous shoots in high fashion magazines. Also in the first book I meant to leave a review but haven’t her but I was so pleasantly surprised to figure out it included fae I was confused at first but now I like how the author unraveled it! While in captivity, Rip gets dangerously close to Auren, threatening to reveal her secret that must be protected at all costs.Through her skillful storytelling and alternating perspectives of Auren and Queen Malina, she takes the reader on a captivating journey through the chapters. Founded by former Daft Punk manager Pedro Winter in 2003, the legendary French record label is this year celebrating two decades of electronic music at its finest. When you let it go, when you finally let that out, your fury is going to light up the spirit you've shadowed. If Midas really cared about her, he'd listen to her and cared more about what she wants than about gold.

Good thing too because it was getting to my nerves how blindly she trusted him, in all things because she believed that he knew best about everything. Auren’s growth felt natural and well-paced, while her "bright side" outlook remains intact; we get to see her imperfect side too. All she wants is to get back to her beloved King, but as time trickles by, Auren learns more about the fourth kingdom's army, and they aren't the monsters she was told about. She persistently seeks the positive aspects in her problems and situations, gradually finding her own identity and reclaiming her self-confidence. Now I’m here, a prisoner of Fourth Kingdom’s army, and I’m not sure if I’m going to make it out of this in one piece.This book picks up where the last one left off and I won’t explain the storyline too much as I don’t want to spoil it. We get closer with Auren, learn more of her past and also a bit more about how and why she is special.

All in all the series is getting better and I don't really know what to expect from the next book but I hope Auren finally breaks free from Midas. Auren was able to escape her golden cage for the first time in 10 years, only to be captured once again. As I put in my review for ‘Gild’, maybe it’s just because I was on a plane when I was reading it but I enjoyed the story and characters and was interested to see if ‘Glint’ would live up to its predecessor. More than that, fashion imagery – with its chequered history of both cementing and challenging gender roles – is a fertile playground for Bailey-Gates’ exploratory approach to portraiture. At first glance, Michael Bailey-Gates’ new book appears to be a compendium of traditional fashion photographs.I wish anyone from Auren's life actually felt sorry for her instead of hating her for being "the favorite" like at least they had some freedom. Through her detailed and powerful language, these moments become a true experience that takes our breath away and touches our senses. Please note: There is explicit language and romance in this book, not suitable for those under the age of 18.
