All in, the fact remains that the GSP 670 is one of the best Sennheiser gaming headsets - and a seriously excellent gaming headset, period. The GSP 670 uses the recipes of the GSP series headphones with a sound philosophy that is reminiscent of Sennheiser Hi-Fi headphones. The first part of the audible spectrum is particularly balanced here, even if this reference is intended to be a bit more flattering in the extreme bass than its cousins. The seat is solid, the bass is deep and very well defined. They are perfectly in their place and never mask the upper registers. This makes the GSP 670 the ideal solution for gamers who don't want to compromise, but still want to enjoy all the flexibility of wireless gaming headsets. The first, contrary to what one might think, is not used to turn on the headphones, but to know the battery level at any time and to force pairing in Bluetooth. The headphones are actually powered up using the large volume potentiometer: you have to increase the volume to turn it on and turn it down to the maximum to turn it off (position 0 turns it off, a very slight “notch” signaling this threshold).In terms of comfort, the GSP 670 features plush earpads and an adjustable headband, ensuring a comfortable fit for long gaming sessions. The headset also has intuitive controls, allowing users to adjust the volume and other settings easily. The battery life of the GSP 670 provides up to 20 hours of playtime, ensuring extended use without the need for frequent recharging. The sound is very different too what you’ll find on most gaming headsets. This may put off some regular, non-audio conscious buyers as the most noticeable difference is how controlled the low end is. Unlike competing sets, such as the Arctis Pro which push the low end to the point it can wonder intrude on other parts of the sound, the Sennheiser GSP 670 keep it under permanent control. This gives it a far precise sound than most headsets, but can initially feel like it’s less powerful to an untrained ear.

Sennheiser and its GSP 670 first test in the wireless version was generally successful. These headphones retain the advantages of the excellent GSP 500 and 600, with good sound reproduction (although a little less controlled) and above all an extremely high-performance microphone. Visually the Sennheiser GSP 670 fall between the two extremes you normally see on a gaming headset. The GSP 670 does not include any analog wired input. It will therefore be necessary to be satisfied with the wireless or wired connection via USB. What’s more, the manufacturer has decided to keep the good old micro-USB connector rather than USB-C.Thus, if you're really keen to get some Sennheiser audio quality into your setup but can't stretch to the larger price tags of the more premium headsets, then the GSP 300 is the right choice. Its compatibility with every device is a major plus, while it retains the Sennheiser excellence in audio (detailed sound, excellent surround/directional accuracy, and great overall richness). Its microphone is good too, though this won't be great for mobile players or for the commute as the mic is non-detachable and a little wobbly on the design front. The latter being a little weak point on the headset overall, actually, as it feels a bit wobbly in the hands. The sound profile of the Sennheiser GSP 670 shares a lot in common with that of the GSP 600, its wired cousin from the same manufacturer. Two plastic sliders across the top of the headband let you adjust how the headset sits on your scalp by distributing the weight more toward the sides or the center. While the GSP 670 seems bulky at first, the generous ear padding and clever weight sliders ensure a comfortable fit that lets you wear the headset for long gaming and listening sessions. First off there is a key bit of housekeeping to make you aware of: Sennheiser headsets will now be sold under the EPOS brand name. After a de-merger in 2020, the products were sold under the 'EPOS | Sennheiser' mantle, but now, if you're looking for a Sennheiser gaming headset, you'll actually be purchasing an EPOS gaming headset in the end. Do not let this put you off in any way, however: the Sennheiser quality and reputation remain, and is enhanced through EPOS's input. As a result, some of these models are still - and will become - some of the best gaming headsets. The EPOS GTW 70 Hybrid wireless gaming earbuds focus on offering a high-end audio experience for Switch and mobile gaming. Known for a long time for its Hi-Fi headphones, Sennheiser has also distinguished itself with the general public in the world of video games. The German brand broke through with its Game Zero and Game One gaming headsets, then confirmed its expertise five years later with its GSP line. They come with a USB-C dongle, allowing you to plug them into your Nintendo Switch and PS5, as well as a cable that will allow you to plug the dongle into a PS4, for example. On top of that, they also support Bluetooth, so you can sync them with any device that supports it.
What should you buy instead?
The GSP 670 did not hold any surprises for us in terms of comfort. The sensations provided are in fact similar to those of the GSP 600. The headset is easy to handle and easily finds its place on the head, despite its size. Its wide and soft ear cups encompass the pavilions well and the pressure points are correctly distributed. Bluetooth integration is also of little interest in a configuration with a dual proprietary wireless/Bluetooth connection, because there is no way to switch manually and easily from one to the other, and even then less to mix the signals. Only a call on the device connected via Bluetooth will force the switch. Once done, it is not possible to easily return to the signal coming from the USB transmitter. In our case, we had to manually disconnect the Bluetooth source or turn the headphones off/on. Battery life is the only minor weak point with Senheisser’s quoted 20 hours Bluetooth, and 16 hours low-latency estimates proving a wee bit optimistic during testing. I tended to get closer to 10-12 hours using the low latency connection. My only other minor quibble with the design is that it uses a micro-USB, not USB-C charge input, which is a bit of a faff considering most hardware has moved to the newer standard. Although the GSP 370s make it somewhat hard to truly, truly go for the more expensive 670, if you're after supreme Sennheiser quality, then this is the headset for you. Its performance across games of any stripe, as well as media, is supreme. In any game, it doesn't matter what's going on or what the scenario or surroundings are, the GSP 670s will give you world-beating audio clarity, depth, breadth, and detail. The timbres are perfectly respected and defined, we benefit from a very good effect of presence and a sharp sound, without it being aggressive. The bottom edge of the left earcup holds the micro USB port for charging, along with a status LED and a Bluetooth pairing slider. A chat volume dial can be found on the bottom edge of the right earcup, along with a programmable smart button that switches between equalizer presets by default. We greatly appreciate its presence, which is not always guaranteed on gaming headsets. However, this wheel is a bit painful to use, because there is no stop to find the central position. The single “smart” button can be assigned to toggle EQ profiles or enable/disable virtual 7.1 surround.After the excellent headsets GSP 600 and GSP 500, we reviewed the flagship of Sennheiser’s gaming headsets : the GSP 670. Will the brand’s first wireless model reshuffle the cards and dethrone the best? As we know, Sennheiser does not like to do things like everyone else. The ergonomics of this model prove it once again. Interaction with the headphones goes through a switch, a button and two potentiometers. The upside, though, is comfort: both the headband and the earcups sit on an average-sized head without distress, and the width of the band allows even larger-headed players (like the reviewer) to enjoy lengthy sessions without discomfort. If you don’t mind faux leather, the earcups are perfectly functional, and the way they operate and noise-cancelling muffs, too, should be lauded. Long, drawn-out gaming sessions aren’t a hassle at all with these thanks to their generously padded, well-spaced ear cups and they present an overall build that’s solid and definitely built to last. The GSP 300 headset is a great starting point for those looking to get into Sennheiser gaming headsets - but one that can also stand in its own right given the quality, and value in particular, that it offers. As I said in my review, "getting a Sennheiser-quality headset like this, at this price point, and with this device-versatility, is an excellent proposition and one that is easy to recommend".
