About this deal

The product materials, which have a significant impact on the protection of the device, are one of the most important considerations when you choose a high quality Xiaomi Poco F3 case. As previously mentioned, there is an abundance of products in different materials to choose between. A silicone protector is definitely the ideal choice, if you are a really cautious person who takes good care of mobile phones. This is because of the fact that they are lightweight and give excellent protection to the smartphone. Around front, the Poco F3 adopts the typical all-screen approach, albeit with a slightly larger chin than some and a dead-flat display. Another giveaway that you’re dealing with a less-than-flagship phone is the central punch-hole camera, which has a slightly off-putting shiny surround. The 120 Hz refresh rate of the screen is paired with a 360 Hz touch sampling rate, which is not as high as the Mi 11 and Mi 11 Ultra's 480 Hz, but is still incredibly high and beats most other smartphones out there. The refresh rate and touch sample rate work together to bring you a very smooth experience, as detailed in the Performance section below. Performance, smoothness Fingerprint reader: The capacitive fingerprint sensor that doubles as a power button is astoundingly fast. Pretty much every time I touched it, the phone would instantly turn on. I was very impressed.

Another element that makes the Xiaomi Poco F3 perfectly suited to gamers and video watchers on a mid-range budget is its superb screen. The official line is that it’s “Poco’s clearest display yet”, and we wouldn’t dispute that for one minute. The Poco F3 uses last year's flagship chipset, which has been rebranded as Snapdragon 870 in a smart marketing move intending not to make it feel old. This may seem controversial since the F2 Pro, for example, used a very similar chipset in 2020, but in real-life use, the thing is most people for most mundane things probably wouldn't be able to tell any difference compared to the Snapdragon 888. We wouldn't call the Poco F3 a two-day phone unless your use is way less intensive than ours, but we think for most people it should get through one day just fine - although if you spend most of your time out and about on mobile data, the screen on time numbers will inevitably drop, and the more the phone hunts for signal in bad areas, the more they will go even lower. That's just the usual disclaimer, we were very happy with the Poco F3's endurance overall. Speakers: There are two speaker grilles: one on top and one on the bottom. This enables a loud audio experience with true stereo sound. The audio could use a bass boost, but that’s almost always a problem with smartphone speakers. All in all, though, the audio from this device is great. There's no wireless charging, which really is no surprise considering the 'flagship killer' positioning and the history of such devices omitting flourishes like this. The wired charging is nothing special (unless your previous phone was a Samsung, in which case you'll be positively surprised), but we'd call the charging time very adequate indeed for the price point here.Battery life on the Poco F3 has been very good. With our use case (detailed below), we've always managed to get at least 5 hours of screen on time in a day with around 20-ish percent of the battery remaining at the end. And aside from one weird outlier day (portrayed in the first screenshot below), we've actually always achieved more than 6 hours. That's a lot, but not necessarily record-breaking for a device that's been reviewed long-term. A lot of times, however, we saw even 7 or 8 hours of screen on time with the same use, and we'd call that a great result. MIUI design: I don’t know if they are bugs or features, but I faced many usability issues with MIUI. For example, when getting a Google reminder in my notification drawer, the “Done” button on the notification was small and hard-left-aligned. Because of this, I was only able to hit it accurately 50% of the time. The other 50% would open up the notification within Google Calendar. This was really annoying. There were lots of little annoyances like that during my time testing the phone.

Media usage doesn’t hit the Poco F3 particularly hard, either. Our typical test involves a 90-minute looped video, with the screen brightness set to full, during which the Poco lost 7%. The Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite, with its dimmer, less fluid display, lost 11% in the same test. You won’t get through much more than a day’s heavy usage, but that will suit most people fine as you would generally plug in your phone to charge at the end of a long day. If you find that stunning spec sheet to be undecipherable, then just booting it up for the first time will leave a lasting impression.None of that is enough to stop the Xiaomi Poco F3 from being a deeply compelling option at the price and ranking among the best Xiaomi phones. Using the phone day to day simply feels more flagship-like than any of its contemporaries, whether that’s the Samsung Galaxy A52 5G or the Google Pixel 4a. Xiaomi Poco F3 release date and price
