About this deal

Knosti Disco Antistat is the first ultrasonic record cleaning machine from Knosti and brings over 40 years of experience and knowledge into a single cutting edge piece of record cleaning technology that will prolong the life of your vinyl and ensure the best quality of sound possible. Keeping Clean Außerdem hätte ich gerne die Möglichkeit einen 2. Satz Dichtschalen zu kaufen. Bieten sie aber nicht an, nur in so einem Ersatzteile Set für 30€. Nein Danke. I think that memories are of greater importance than the physical condition of any physical media. Being a collector of only a few years i have kept mine in good shape, and am usually quite selective of what i buy. Though for me, music should be enjoyed as should the media on which it is contained.

fabrication très légère qui ne justifie pas le prix demandé. Par ailleurs, la brosse en poils de chèvre perd des poils qui se retrouvent sur les vinyles. Ce n'est pas le plus grave. Previously on Audio Appraisal, I reviewed the Spin Clean Record Washer system– a simple manual record cleaning machine let down by the cleaning fluid. The provided fluid collected on the records, failing to evaporate fully and eventually collecting on the stylus. This resulted in a significant reduction in sound quality, static build up on the records themselves, and excessive wear and dirt build up on the stylus. Other parts include a two-part clamp and funnel-filter. We’ll get to the funnel in a moment. One half of the clamp includes a bayonet axle. This axle pushes though the record’s centre spindle hole, the other side of the clamp screws over this axle while the vinyl record forms the meat in the sandwich.

Of the two cleaning fluids, I prefer L'Art Du Son as it seems to get the records slightly cleaner (less noisy).

This is one of those proposed cleaning solutions. A cleaning machine that arrives with its own cleaning liquid. It’s been around for some time, I realise but I’ve never properly reviewed it. I thought it was about time. Drip stand (drying stand) with collection tray for up to 15 LPs or singles (slides into the case after use).Another distinguishing feature we noticed between these two products is the brush material. The Knosti brushes are made of goat hair, whereas the Spin-Clean brushes are actually velvet pads. I suspect a longer immersion time helps with the cleaning process. With the Knosti, the disc stays immersed in the fluid for as long as you like (while you read a book, listen to a record or get on with something else) and you can also rotate it as often as you like, giving it a very thorough washing. It's significant that when you do this you clean both sides simultaneously so even if other things were equal, five minutes spent cleaning an LP on a Knosti would be worth 10 minutes on an RCM. Also, from what I've seen so far, the brushes on the Knosti seem to be highly effective.

To repeat, the Spin Clean did do an admirable job. It’s not bad, in any way. It’s just that the Disco-Antistat is a better cleaning system. Again, point at the brushes for the reason for that. DEPOSITS The machine has been developed harnessing ultrasonic and a proven goat hair brush technology that when together they ensure a deep but gentle cleaning of your precious vinyl to ensure clarity of your sound without causing damage to the composition of the vinyl itself. Filtered For Purity I haven’t yet tried cleaning new vinyl (there are reports that removing the mould release agent used during stamping improves sonics from the off). The best 40 quid I’ve spent on an upgrade in memory. You'll want to setup on the kitchen bench or similar to clean your records. It's a little messier than using a RCM such as the Consonance or Okki Nokki. There will still be some wiping up once you're complete. I firstly cleaned the Disco-Antistat bath with distilled water and repeated the sonic tests. The results? No residue! Hurrah!I’m attempting to clean over 200 flood affected discs so I though it worth the outlay. Your gonna have to decide if that’s right for yourself. Developed and manufactured in Germany, the Knosti Disco-Antistat record washer has also been widely used since the mid-1970s. This Knosti kit includes a light gray basin, a pair of goat hair brushes, and a set of record clamps that protect the label on the record. The extremes of the upper mids offered a touch of extra insight. Cymbal taps sounded like symbol taps and less like a snake hissing in the rear of the mix. That said, there was a fly in the ointment, a touch of hardness at times in the upper mids. Static prevention isn’t a strong point of pure distilled water – and that’s been an issue here. However, a combination of an anti-static gun and new poly-lined anti-static sleeves have effectively resolved that issue.

Knosti Disco-Antistat: Which Is Better? Spin-Clean Vs Knosti Disco-Antistat: Which Is Better?

I performed a direct A-B comparison between the Disco-Antistat and the Spin Clean system, which looks very smart but uses those pads I mentioned instead of the brushes and the resultant cleaning performance was easy to hear. The Disco-Antistat was ahead in terms of sonic improvement. More than that, if your stylus is scooping up a residue off the groove walls and floor then that means the stylus is not as close to the vinyl itself and may very well be ‘playing’ the Disco antistatic liquid. In terms of time – cleaning a batch of 8 records takes no more than 15 minutes. Drying takes a number of hours (which is to be expected using only distilled water) – but the results are more than worth it.It arrived. Man these type of cleaners are expensive. My old Knosti improved with the crank did a great job anyway BUT sonic model really is a lot easier to use and can be left set up as it looks pretty ok. More reliable manual record cleaning solutions still present a busy area though. It can be achieved by the use of different types of brushes, felt pads, gizmos and more with the help of a 1001 different liquid concoctions. This entry into the manual-cleaning field comes from Germany and has the wholly terrible name of Disco-Antistat. It’s true, I’ve never known such a poor appellation for any product of any stripe in my entire life. With the Spin-Clean device, you place the record and let it rest on the rollers inside the basin. Then, you begin rotating the record by gently pressing on the edges with the tips of your fingers.
