Description

FCUK Connect Her by FCUK has been used by me since early August and now I can say that the smell is sweet and fruity with a hint of amber. After some time, it gets sexy, intriguing and exudes femininity. It is strange, but despite that this is very sweet, that is better in summer than any other time of the year. Overall, FCUK Her embraces the ingenuity and feminism of the modern woman. I think that was what FCUK was trying to create with this perfume and bottle design. A no-fuss smell that any woman (or man!) can wear. I was given FCUK as a gift because I liked Om by The Gap and it has been discontinued. I was warned about the name but still had to do a double take. If anyone ever asked what I was wearing, I would have to take a moment's pause to make sure I didn't slip up. So, yeah, the name is a negative for me. I don't find it at all amusing though I could see how others might. Although perfumes are not expensive and exclusive, but it develops nicely on the skin and has good longevity.

FCUK Friction Her Eau de Parfum 150ml Spray | SEPHORA UK

Despite its name, this inoffensive POWDERY FLORAL BOUQUET featuring jasmine, opens with a short but sweet fruity-floral burst with faint touches of lime, that deepens into a floral heart of peony, lily-of-the-valley & iris with velvety, violet, rosy, clean, powdery, fresh & honey-sweet nuances, all resting on a base of cedar-sandalwood & patchouli with soapy & faint spicy nuances from cinnamon. Jasmine is more forward here than the notes would suggest, and over time colonizes the other florals in the heart. Light performance, that improves with dark storage after first sprays. I don't know if it has to do with the climate of country (I am from India and it was 34 degree Celsius when I sprayed this) but the perfume is very strong and I hardly smell anything sweet in it. The cedar and sandalwood accords are incredibly strong, further complimented by zesty bergamot and syrupy, resinous amber. When you smell this fragrance you can almost taste it, it is that intense. These are different, but there are similarities with a powdery floral bouquet featuring jasmine, over a woody base. The opening is sharper, and the base is more creamy & soapy in Noa. Noa outperforms.

Pharmacy product

These are different, but there are similarities with a clean & slightly soapy floral bouquet. The opening is a little sharper in Omnia Crystalline. OC outperforms. Of course I can't ignore the attention the name: FCUK gets; well, FCUK is a -rather young- fashion brand in the UK and is obviously playing a game with missing vowels and rearranging letters to get just the effect that most people have when reading it. "WHAT is that called?!"

So of course after I and the shopkeeper giggle for a time, I hafta try it. yes, for the sake of the hilarious misread. I tried four of the women's frags... I don't remember offhand what they were... but this one absolutely blew me away. It had a wow factor. An absolute wow factor that I am defiantly not used to having in a perfume. I've had the feeling before, but oh man is it a rarity. Well, FCUK stands for French Connection United Kingdom. And that's all folks....Don't judge this one by its name (or the other scrabble meaning of it) and try it. It's inexpensive and lovely and they have a few pretty scents to choose from. FCUK is a British fashion empire which incidentally this logo and brand reflect it's 'French Connection'. Lily of the valley is on me one of those notes that dominates a scent on my skin, so when I saw lily as a top note in this fragrance I didn't even bother to test it. Dumb, because FCUK has other fragrances that I like. So, when I finally tested it I was surprised at how well balanced and 'controlled' the lily note is. The peony and jasmine have a tight hold on her, with a helping hand from a powdery violet, a feisty rose and, --can it be?-- a spicy cinnamon/sandalwood note that is on the lookout far away but still noticeable. Fragrance is about personal taste. I personally have always loved fruity fragrances. Being of a Scandinavian decent and having spent most of my life in Australia, with hot summers, one learns to appreciate products that ease the day or night. The sillage is, however, weak. Though it is moderate for one hour, it becomes weaker as time passes. At first, I didn’t really care for it. It wasn’t bad; it was just kind of bland. I recently spritzed some on before bed the other night and realized I really do like this! It’s a very soothing and comforting scent to me. It’s kind of linear, which is fine for how I use it. I’ve been using it before bed and using the body mist to sprinkle a little extra on my bedsheets. The scent literally helps soothe me to sleep! My skin tends to really grab onto and amplify jasmine and violet so that’s what I smell the most. I’ve also layered this with some spicer scents (that—of course— I can’t remember which ones right now) and it’s worked really well! The bottle is a love or hate design, I don't care for the design, it's rather heavy and has a tiny base to stand on which makes the bottle fall over at the slightest touch. Also, the pump action is a bit rigid, but considering the friendly price and the lovely juice in it I can live with it till my 100ML are gone.
