About this deal

If you’ve been here before you know I’ve reviewed all of these meat thermometers on this list and will continue to monitor them in case anything changes. Cuisinart CBT-100 Bluetooth Easy Connect Meat Thermometer: We liked this sleek, 2-probe thermometer because it has a lot of functionality in its app. It also delivered wonderfully accurate readings and sounded its alarm through our smartphone. Where it faltered was in its range—we lost connectivity while only about 20 yards away. If you're planning on using this indoors and staying fairly close to the unit, that likely won't be a dealbreaker for you. The Fireboard 2 supports two types of probes: RTD probes for measuring extreme temperatures between -58 °F and 715 °F, or the more typical, faster response time thermistor type that is best for BBQ. And it’s the thermistor type that it ships with. Some people (our review friend and others) have complained about the Bluetooth range not being the purported 495 feet that ThermoPro claims. A temperature probe, which provides an instant temperature reading when inserted into meat, fish or poultry

The app is easy-to-use, and semi-automates cooks for you. You select the type of meat, how ‘done’ you’d like it, and it automatically tells you how long it will take and when to take the meat off the grill, so carryover cooking takes it to the target temp. It also saves information from previous cooks, so you can compare and use this to improve. Manufacturer’s Specs The thermometer itself is simple to use, with buttons for scrolling through the type of food you’re cooking, an OK button to select and, if you’re cooking lamb or beef, the option to choose a level of doneness. A large display makes it easy to see the temperature climbing at a glance. One feature we might change is the alarm for when it reaches the pre-selected temperature as, while it’s guaranteed to get your attention, it’s loud and shrill. Depending on the model you choose, meat thermometers can include a range of different practical features. Most useful will be a guide to the temperature you need to achieve for different meats and levels of “doneness”, so you don’t need to keep referring to a cheat sheet. I’ve reviewed every single Bluetooth meat thermometer on this list and I’ll include a link to each individual review.

Fourth Place: Tenergy Solis Bluetooth Meat Thermometer

Boiling water should read close to 212 °F at sea level. As you can see in the below image, the Fireboard showed 211.8 °F and 212.3 °F for two connected probes. Although you probably won’t get the 500 feet wireless range that’s advertised, you will easily get anywhere from 2 to 4 times the range of the others on the market. The actual wireless Bluetooth signal range will vary depending on your situation and mobile devices. I’ve achieved distances between 200 to 300 feet in my tests with the TP-25H2. If you have a music app going on your phone, the mobile app will interrupt it. This is easily remedied by pressing play again on your music app. Count me as a fan. There’s a lot to like about this meat thermometer. It’s fast and accurate, the screen is rotatable, and you can clearly see the red digital display without having to press a light button.

The best meat thermometers you can buy in 2023 1. Oxo Chef’s Precision Leave-In Meat Thermometer: Best analogue meat thermometer They take the guesswork out of timing and alert you when the meat’s ready going by internal temperature, which is the best measurement, not time. You don’t have to babysit the grill anymore. It has an angled rubber base with a built-in magnet. You can turn thermometer 180⁰ to enable the viewing better depending on where you mount it. Once you set the desired temperature, insert the probe into the center of the meat and begin grilling. You can monitor the temperature graph on your phone, but the app will notify you when the food is ready. The large temperature range goes from 14 to 572 degrees Fahrenheit, perfect to use with a wide variety of cooking methods. The Bluetooth connection functioned well for about 30 yards outdoors, and bit less indoors if there are walls separating you from the thermometer. Overall, we were pretty impressed with the functionality and accuracy of this model and couldn't find much to complain about, especially at this price. The ThermoPro TP-25 in the middle has an attached stand, I propped up the Tenergy Solis on the left, the Inkbird on the right has no stand either, the Lavatools Carbon Lite in front comes with a stand and is magnetic. The Best Bluetooth Meat Thermometers Boiling water should be close to 212 °F at sea level. As can be seen in the image below, the Inkbird measured 214 °F in my testing. That makes it the only thermometer on this list with historical graph referencing. You still can’t export the data and the graph only includes the food temperature readings and not the ambient for some reason. You may have to place the phone closer to the grill, such as a hallway to avoid an extra wall, but close enough to where you can hear any alarms.

Essentially, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth work in the same frequency of 2.4 GHz. The difference is the purpose of each and the range. The Weber iGrill 2 Bluetooth thermometer has four probe ports, one for ambient grill temperature and three for meat. The thermometer handles temperatures between -22 °F (-30 °C) to 572 °F (300 °C), which is the typical range for meat thermometers.

Best Overall Bluetooth Thermometer: ThermoPro TP 25 Bluetooth Meat Thermometer

Key specs – Size: 4 x 3 x 38cm (WDH); Leave in oven: No; Features: AAA batteries included; Weight: 120g We tested this thermometer in our Lab and found it to be mostly straightforward to set up, with a little bit of a learning curve to get to know how to adjust its settings. First and foremost, we loved how accurate the thermometer is—it comes calibrated with an accuracy of ±2 degrees Fahrenheit straight from the factory. We also really like that you can easily hear the alarm thanks to its four volume settings. The Inkbird IBT-4XS is a very popular thermometer and a great one for the relatively little it costs compared to most others on this list. It also a few more features than the rest. You can set temp pre-alarms for each probe, alarm vibrations, and choose different alarm sounds. The app comes with a variety of meat and temperature presets. An interesting feature is the temperature chart that displays the temperature over time. Once the probe senses the desired temperature, it sends a “chirping” alarm and a text telling you the meat is done.

Each probe comes with a removable clip, and the wire end has an easy to grip red bulb where the wire attaches. It runs on 2 AA batteries which are included. Recently released is a newer smartphone app that is hugely improved over the first app from ThermoWorks. Once installed, I was asked to set up an account, and then a firmware update was pushed, and I was up and running.

Third Best: Inkbird IBT-4XS Bluetooth Meat Thermometer

Inkbird is a rather large company that produces a lot of temperature measuring devices from thermostats and humidity controllers to thermometers and sous vide devices. Accuracy: Above all, a thermometer should deliver an accurate temperature reading. We tested these thermometers in several applications, from an ice bath, to monitoring an immersion circulator bath, boiling water, and grilling pork to 135 degrees Fahrenheit. The more precise the reading, the higher the rating. If you’re more of a flexitarian than a carnivore, or love to experiment with food, you’ll want a thermometer that does more than meat. Enter Salter’s Leave-In Digital Kitchen Thermometer. Thanks to its clever design, it’s as handy for sitting in a joint of meat as it cooks in the oven, as it is for jam-making, barbecuing, grilling and even deep frying. The digital unit sits outside the oven or pan and is connected to its probe by a metre-long cable. Only 2.5cm of the probe needs to be inserted, making it suitable for burgers and bangers as well as larger pieces of meat. There’s a clip and magnets, too, so it can attach to the side of a pan, barbecue or deep fat fryer.
