About this deal

BTS/15 or BTS/35 Monitors battery temperature and adjusts charging voltage for maximum performance. A 15 ft. (4.5 m) or 35 ft. (11 m) cable with standard telephone type connectors is included. There are a number of field configurable, user adjustments for C Series controllers. The C40 may be configured for 12, 24 or 48 volt systems. Bulk and Float voltage set points are user adjustable which allows use with a wide variety of battery technologies including; flooded lead acid, gel, and absorbed glass mat. In addition, there are manually selectable settings for Nicad batteries. Silent Microprocessor Control. All C Series controllers have a powerful microprocessor at their core which increases system performance and maximizes battery life. They are fully solid state and operate silently. I realize this is an older thread, but I have been looking at this myself. I have SE XW+ inverters, 60-150 MPPT charge controllers, battery monitor and ComBox. Obviously the ComBox already provides monitoring plus system configuration and control. But I am interested in collecting the data in an Open Source solution and integrate with Home Automation, etc.

As a DC Load Controller- As a DC load controller, the C Series has a low voltage disconnect warning indicator and field adjustable set points that govern automatic low and high voltage disconnect. Manual reset switch for emergency low voltage operation. In this mode, all power, which is not used to maintain a full charge on the batteries, is diverted to a load dump such as water or space heaters. Diversion mode is used to regulate microhydro and wind turbine systems which need a constant load.

I'm a retired Mtce. Crew Supv....was a Operating Room Nurse but got tired of freezing to death all day...so went to work for telco as a mtce. splicer. I appreciate all the help fellas.......down the road, I want to hook up the refrigerator and microwave, computer, coffee pot, a room AC, and even the forced air AC (if I can get away with it) .etc.....that's why I bought such a large inverter. Maybe I should wait to hook everything up until I have a larger battery bank and many more panels. My plan was to add to the system as I go along.......but, at least with the batteries, that's not feasible unless I want to take the loss (thanks again, Mike). I want to be prepared incase all hell breaks loose in America not to mention the environment and hurricanes.I'm a telephone company retiree and want to do nice cable runs and make everything pretty, don't you know!OK I am a PPE from the Telco world. So you ought to smell a rat when you look at the suggested cable sizes in the manual. #1 AWG for a 375 amp circuit. Anything sound fishy about that? C Series controllers all use Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) charging profiles which are designed to provide a full charge to your battery while, at the same time, minimize gassing which can shorten battery life. When used as a load controller, the C Series (C40) will automatically turn a DC load on or off at predetermined battery voltage settings. Both LVD (low voltage disconnect) and LVR (low voltage reconnect) set points are user adjustable. The C40 can be configured for 12, 24, or 48 volt systems. Bulk and Float voltage set points are user adjustable which allows use with a wide variety of battery technologies including; flooded lead acid, gel, and absorbed glass mat. In addition, there are manually selectable settings for Nicad batteries.
