Dawn French rose to fame as one half of the comedy duo French and Saunders with Jennifer Saunders, appearing first in Channel 4’s The Comedy Strip Presents before debuting the hit series French & Saunders in 1987. French’s roles in Murder Most Horrid, The Vicar of Dibley and Jam and Jersualem cemented her place as one of the UK’s top comedians. She has written a number of bestselling books and recently released an Audible Original podcast, Titting About, with Saunders. There’s always plenty of violence at the BBC! If it’s violence you’re after then I recommend Series 2 and 3 of Bottom from the 1990s. Otherwise, recent show such as Blue Planet II are a tad more peaceful. I also recommend Mark Kermode’s film review show on BBC radio. As for Peep Show, that wasn on Channel 4 over here, I’m afraid. It’s probably on YouTube illegally as well, though! In 2009 Popper and Serafinowicz wrote, produced, and performed in a 30-minute podcast entitled The Other Side.
