His Pokémon Journeys: The Series incarnation is a character alongside Goh in Ga-Olé's Grand Rush set 4. Ash replaced the Experienced Trainer that offers consolation disks if no Pokémon were captured during Get by Battle mode. He, also appears as an opponent in Trainer and Battle Mode, which was available to challenge from February 24, 2020. This was considerably earlier into the set's duration compared to other sets—the fourth Ultra Legend set, which also featured special opponents in Trainer and Battle Mode, shares this trait. Ash could be challenged after defeating the other Trainer and Battle Mode opponents. The lineup included 1 new Trainer class in addition to Ash and Goh, who had their hometown as part of their name instead of "Pokémon Trainer". With that, the group set off on their journey again. During their travels, they occasionally met the ninja boy Sanpei, whose presence always led to progress in Froakie's (and later Frogadier's and Greninja's) strength.

In The Grass Route, Ash competed in the Grass Tournament with Bulbasaur. He lost in the final round to Ephraim's Skiploom.
