It has one side that is blue and one that is green so you can drop the characters onto the small prop boxes – then you can make them look as if they’re flying. My 4-year-old, in particular, loved that the photo instructions made it easy for him to know which pieces to find and where to put them, since he’s not reading on his own yet. His big sister read the instructions out loud, and he followed along by looking at the photos. Occasionally, they needed help snapping a small piece into place, but for the most part, they were able to build the catapult all by themselves. It also comes with Zu3D’s software which is very user-friendly and has a lot of fun features, like sound effects and filters. The KLUTZ Lego Make Your Own Movie Activity Kit is seriously one of the most unique and innovative STEM Lego engineering kits we've come across.This one is specially designed for kids so it’s easy to use and has a kid-friendly interface. It’s also a great kit for claymation because it includes modeling clay. But they’re very lightweight and tend to fall over so you have to shoot images carefully without toppling them.

These klik characters look like plastic armatures and they’re so easy to mold and work with. However, they’re not ideal for claymation since they’re not made of clay. This Lego set is a seriously fun gift for a child that loves their Lego projects. It also comes with several fun mini-figures. This includes a digital camera, tripod, computer with editing software, and stop motion animation software.

The great thing about using your smartphone is that you probably already have a good-quality camera and you don’t need to worry about buying a separate webcam. This is a Lego engineering kit that kids from musical families will really enjoy. Looking at the photo of the completed piano, you may not think a lot of building goes into it. I assure you, though, this is an intense STEM project. iPad compatibility is important because many people, especially kids learn to make stop motion using a tablet.
