A good all-in-one system will present information on the screens in a logical and easily legible way. You don’t want to be squinting and end up spending far too much time decoding the information on the screen. The XDJ RX3 is an outstanding Pioneer standalone controller. This controller has an excellent selection of features from the Nexus series. It has impressive and effective DJing effects to add spice to your DJ sets. The pad functions are fully fleshed out giving you access to even more creative choices.

The one caveat here is that none of the Pioneer units we’ll talk about today support any kind of music streaming services, where the Engine-powered ones do. Something to remember if you plan to DJ using Beatport/Beatsource Link, SoundCloud Go+, TIDAL or Dropbox. Pioneer Standalone DJ Systems (Rekordbox) Screens are one of the most important aspects of an all-in-one DJ controller. Large screens make it easier to discern key information. The Denon Prime Go strikes an excellent balance between portability and features. It’s a standalone unit that fully lives up to its name. Take it anywhere thanks to the including battery power supply. While it moves away from a traditional controller design it doesn’t take long to get familiar with it. Also, despite the small jog wheels, you can still execute scratches. Pro Layout –The XDJ RX3 inherits the Pioneer layout from their other pro-level gear. If you are an experienced Pioneer gear user you’ll feel right at home with this controller. Everything is where you expect it to be. New DJs will also be able to transition to Pioneer pro-level gear with ease. In EQ mode, when the EQ knobs are turned down the selected frequency band will be reduced in volume by up to 26db. This allows some sound to leak through still when fully turned down. There’s another thing that often comes up when discussing these systems, and that’s the apparent elimination of “Serato face”, or “the screen stare”. You know, the phenomenon where DJs are glued to their laptop screen… staring at Serato, Virtual DJ, etc. instead of the crowd or their mixer.

Sampler Updates - audio can now be routed to any channel or Main output and the Sampler Mode can be accessed by double-pressing the Roll mode button on hardware (previously you could only access by pressing Shift and Roll) prime go is new in stores and we have main sound differences to other prime stuff, popping mic sounds with the on off buttons and no vu metering for inputs. Engine OS units include pre-loaded sampler content with drum kits, scratch phrases and sound effects. Telling people to leave their trim-gain knobs at one physical rotation spot (or narrow range) is bad advice. That only worked for him because he was using test signals of known level. Prime GO also comes with additional professional-standard DJ technology such as 3-band EQ, 2 line faders, sweep FX and filter on each channel. Additionally, DJs that may have been put off by open-format mixing will be more inclined to use this function due to its easy usability. Next-generation Operating Software SystemOne day I played in a dusty place at the next morning I couldn't move the faders , there is no broom on top or a rubber thing that protekt it Club Inspired –The XDJ XZ offers DJs a club layout that is hard to beat. Everything is where you would expect it to be. An excellent transition device if you want to practice club sets in your studio. For example, there are only a couple of onboard FX, in comparison to getting the full gamut of NXS2 goodies. The jog wheels aren’t quite as nice, the screen is high-quality, but it’s not touch-enabled… so that means no keyboard search. Stuff like that.

It has 4 assignable inputs (for connecting media players or turntables), and a suite of effects from Denon's X1850 PRIME mixer. It can play music straight from one of its four USB inputs, or from an SD card. It even includes a 2.5” SATA drive bay… allowing you to carry your music on an internal hard drive. Uncompressed music is supported (such as FLAC, ALAC, or WAV files)… and you can use any one of these sources to record your DJ sets.Over the las few years, Engine OS has been updated to provide new and improved features to the products running it. There are more updates planned offering more exciting and innovative features to the Prime GO and others units in the line. In terms of audio quality, the PRIME-GO DJ Console doesn't compromise. With 24bit/48kHz capability and balanced XLR and TRS master and booth outputs, you are more than flexible enough for a mobile gig or house party. Denon's Prime Go DJ Controller even lets you use your mobile data to stream music from a streaming platform of your choice. TIDAL is the first compatible streaming service, although a firmware update will add more streaming services. Endless creative mixing possibilities Using your mobile data or either a venue’s WiFi or wired internet connection, you can stream music from TIDAL with its catalogue of over 60+ million songs, just using PRIME GO and with no laptop needed. Using just PRIME GO (yes, you got it, no computer needed), you can also import a full Rekordbox™ collection direct from a media source, internally analysed (including playlists, hot cues and loops) within the unit itself.

Good Built Quality – Despite a plastic build the Denon SC Live 2 is a tough controller that can handle the rigors of frequent use. Good Connectivity – The Mixstream Pro GO offers an SD card slot along with USB ports. Plus, it is Wi-Fi-capable, making it a universal and practical option for DJs that use compatible streaming services. As a first DJ setup, it’s certainly easy-to-use and well-made, although the price probably puts it beyond entry-level and, unless you’re dead set on entering the Prime sphere or really want the wireless power, there are better value options out there.
