About this deal

Alice sees things differently and it affects how she lives. This book follows her story as she adjusts and comes to know herself. Alice has the skill to visualise in colours I have had a life-long relationship with colours. Enduring them, accepting them, surrendering to them.' My only complaint would be that the latter half of the book moved way too fast for me, bounding through the adult years of her life where I really wanted to linger hour by hour with Alice. Ethos in your speech or writing comes from sounding fair or demonstrating your expertise, education or pedigree. Examples of ethos include:

I Want to Know What Love Is" (guest vocal by Suzie McNeil) Written by: Michael Jones / Produced by: Russ Irwin, Marti Frederiksen & Charlton Pettus– 3:41 The album received RIAA Gold certification on November 2, 2006 and spent 14 weeks on the Billboard 200 chart. I admit it's not a light, jolly tale but the veins of hope that run through it as the story progresses makes it such a beautiful and unique read. Original thinkers (when they use their powers for good.) You are supreme ruler for a day. Which law do you pass or abolish?

I have to admit this is the first book I have read by Cecelia Ahern, and I could not put it down. A Thousand Different Ways tells the story of Alice who has synaesthesia and is seen as been different and difficult as she tries to navigate her way through her life with her mother and brothers. It’s about a character named Alice who has the ability to see people’s emotions in the form of colours around their bodies; she sees auras. She can instantly know just by looking at someone exactly how they’re feeling, and if the colour travels to her, then she can also feel exactly as they are feeling. Alice feels that this skill is a burden, not a gift, and we follow her as she tries to navigate her own life, carve out her own path despite feeling overwhelmed by everyone around her.

A stunning, wonderful, powerful tale: Alice lives with her mother and two brothers, one older and one younger. Alice has synaesthesia (to see or feel in colours)only this isn't recognised until she is older and sadly she is seen as being different and a trouble maker. She sees the anger in her mother and the calm in her older brother. Imagine being able to see and hence make a judgement of someone by the colour surrounding them. When there is a crowd you are overwhelmed, when seeing strangers you can make a call. When Hugo, her older brother, goes to university and her younger brother is on the wrong side of the law it is left to Alice to look after her mother as she is now in a wheelchair. Down, I’ll introduce you main colors and their main ‘meanings’ and impacts, which can be used in every sphere of life starting from your personal look, up to your working place. We’ll start with camera settings; the rules you need to follow before you even lift your camera to your eye. Then there’s focusing: the critical rules that govern what parts of your image need to be sharp, and what you can get away with being blurred. Next up is composition – what you need to include in the frame, and just as importantly, what you should leave out.

On The Go

This is both a complex and simple story about relationships and family and about love and friendship. I felt perhaps the pacing was a bit inconsistent though at the same time recognise Ahern slowed to focus on certain moments in Alice’s life… fast forwarding through others. Cluttered compositions rarely make great pictures. The skill of the photographer is in finding a camera angle and shooting postion that allows you to simplify the scene, so you have just enough elements in the frame - and not too many. It is not just about zooming in, though, try moving around the subjects - or getting down lower or higher - to get a composition that is not too busy. If you don’t feel your own pain, you cannot recognise it in others. Our own suffering can cultivate the ability to help others. Better men than us have fought and died to preserve this great nation. Now is our turn to return the favor. For God and country, gentlemen!
