About this deal

Highs showed, as well, a very good retuning potential with an EQ, adding a much more detailed and brighter sound. Speaking of sound quality. The SoundPeats T2 sounds pretty good for their asking price. They go loud. Although there is a definite ‘V’ shape to the sound, it’s not as pronounced as that found on the Tronsmart Apollo’s. There was a degree of ‘hardness’ to the upper mids when they’re pushed too hard but at normal listening levels this effectively disappeared and the overall sound character remained fairly flat.

The SoundPEATS T2 puts most of its effort into the lower frequencies - it sounds deep and full in these areas. There's a mid-bass thump, with a nicely rumbling sub-bass you can feel in songs that pave the way for it, like James Blake's test case Limit to Your Love. Both the mid-bass and sub-bass aren't the tightest or most textured, and when multiple basslines come together, things can even get a little muddy. They have three ANC modes - off (by default), 'ambient passthrough' and 'on'. Passthrough mode is decent enough, without adding the echoey sound you get on many earbuds, but it could be clearer. Another point of note is that ANC is off by default, so you have to cycle through once to ensure it is on.Despite the cheap price, the SOUNDPEATS T2 feature Active Noise Cancelling, Passthrough (Transparency mode) and Bluetooth 5.1. The T2 are Soundpeats' first foray into active noise cancellation, so it was always going to be an interesting analysis as the budget vendors increasingly tiptoe into higher end feature-sets. If you’re looking for a pair of ANC earbuds that you can use throughout the day, the SoundPEATS T2 are a great option. Their balanced sound and ANC performance for the price is impressive and they’re a great value choice if you don’t want to spend a lot but still wish to have active noise cancelling. The earbuds themselves are quite large but surprisingly comfortable and stay put in my ears very well. They have an ergonomic negative profile - the issue is more into how much they protrude out of your ears than the fit. Therefore they are not ideal for sleeping with or wearing a hat over.

Holding the touchpad for 6 seconds puts the earbuds into pairing mode. Not as convenient as having multipoint (which is still few and far in TWS), but it does save the step of disconnecting to my current device. Holding the touchpad for about 10 seconds turns off both earbuds. This proves important, because the earbuds don’t power off in the case if it is depleted. The earbuds power off together but need to be powered on again individually. The earbuds feature an IPX5 water rating, so you can use this during an exercise without any worry about getting a bit of sweat on them. Unfortunately, there’s no companion app for these earbuds, so the touch controls are the only way to interface with the earbuds and cycle through the modes and any EQ adjustments you wish to make to the earbuds will need to be done in the app that you listen to music in. Battery LifeThe SoundPeats T2 is the company’s first foray into Active Noise Cancellation. For a reasonable price point they have a lot up their sleeve, but how well do these fare in real life? The more expensive Soundcore Liberty Air 2 Pro offers even stronger noise-cancelling than the SoundPEATS T2, if only a little. The T2 Transparency mode is better, however. The Soundcore looks and feels as a more premium product and comes with a free app crammed full of nifty ANC and Transparency modes and sound equalizers. The latter gives the sound quality on the Liberty Air 2 Pro more options - while it's slightly dull with a strong focus on bass and lower-mids out of the box, you can tweak it so the upper-mids and highs pop, and when you do, the Soundcore can sound fuller and richer than the SoundPEATS. The bass and the mids are generated from the 8.6mm dynamic driver, solid, punchy, and resonate. where Sondpeats T2 power by 12mm large dynamic driver even though the driver is bigger is Soudnpeats T2 it is still can not compete with the Soundpeats H1 These have Bluetooth 5.2, which is the latest Bluetooth addition. These earbuds come with an IPX6 waterproof rating, which means these earbuds can resist high-pressure, heavy sprays of water, Which is Impressive ANC is very good for this price point. It is quite aggressive at removing mid to low frequencies, and takes a slight edge off higher frequencies. It does however, hiss noticeably in complete silence and doesn’t do much for removing the sounds of people talking (especially loudly).

When activating it’s ANC, the T2 will get an exponential boost in their isolation performance, yet to keep users expectative as real as possible, it is worth highlighting that their ANC dB cancellation will not be as groundbreaking as industry-leading models. When the left Soundpeats T2 earbud is placed into the charging case, the first LED indicator flashes, which means the left earbud in charging status. In a way, the T2 is the counterpart of the recently released SoundPEATS Sonic, which didn't lift the darker tones, but the higher frequencies instead, resulting in a very clear but almost aggressive sound that could become too bright at times.
