About this deal

I could still have installed the original firmware, if I had any way to get a copy, but although I found loads of different versions of the firmware, none were the version I had before, and the only ones that seemed like any improvement refused to load. Should it be the B525, at 300mbs or the new B618, that claims to have all the bells and whistles as well as a 600mbs?

In reply to a post by dect:Would have thought Vodafone or O 2 would have been better in rural locations because of having more 800Mhz bandwidth. Hey, I managed to flash 11.182.61.00.778 version to my Huawei B525s as well however I am struggling to make it act as a bridge router. I am trying to connect to the the root router which is also a B525s-23a one. Wondering if such thing is possible? Thanks More and more network providers in the world are upgrading their LTE network to LTE-advanced with carrier aggregation technology. Consequently, LTE terminals are demanded by the carriers and end users. As we had introduced before, the Huawei E5186 LTE router is the world’s first LTE-advanced router for LTE Category 6, and it was available in the market for almost two years. Does anyone know if the 'Inter bands' combinations specified by the manufacturer are the same for these two devices. Can you borrow a sim card from any friends or family and try another network and see if the same thing happens? The current settings do not allow me to fix the band, but I have got around that with LTEInspecteur In reply to a post by henrix343:there is difference when you put router as a bridge or EXPOSE it (DMZ). This work differently, a second router in DMZ actually leads to double NAT (hello DDNS or VPN for example) and "is not the proper way to do things" besides configuring everything on one device is easy, DMZ in some case are dangerous (some protocols simply do not works in this scenario). But I will consider it, if I cant set up an bridge (which is ->HILARIOUS<-).[Much later:]

The dial tone sounds wrong, like old BT tone when it times out, but aside from that and the 20 second wait when calling, it all works ok. I can also report that pressing # after dialing doesn't speed things up.Thanks for this information I also tried using Android app "huaCtrl" (available in the Google PlayStore) to change bands on both the B525 and B535, but I still couldn't get the B525 to go to LTE+There are several variants of the B525, both handle MORE than you can realistically pull through any of the UK mobile networks: After reviewing the manual for the 23a this combination is not down as being supported. Only B1+B20 or B3+B20. If this of correct its not good news for Three owners as this is the ideal combo.
