We know you are not a dummy, but why learn guitar the hard way when Guitar All-in-One For Dummies makes it so simple? For Jazz lovers, I don’t really know any books that could compete with this. It teaches you Jazz basics with real songs and I really like that. If you have played for a while and are interested in getting into playing classical guitar, then get a book that teaches you classical guitar basics!

Also, this book is from the year 2018, and that shows. The book is more engaging and there are more visuals to break up the paragraphs. It’s great. Most adults I’ve seen who are starting off freshly on an instrument are super intimidated by it. Finger fatigue is quite common. The most common line that we hear is ‘’I’m too old for it’’. Which is absolutely in the head. You’re never ever too old to learn an instrument and this book helps you out and shows you how it’s done. It will depend on the musical style you want to play and your level. If you are a beginner, it should ideally cover all the basics such as the distribution of notes on the instrument, the most common chords, and different strumming patterns. Learning the guitar makes you realize just how little control you actually have over your hands. Although your brain knows what to do, it's hard to get your fingers to follow the same plan. That’s where exercises come in; it's all about muscle memory, and the only way to build that is through repetition.Another way to read the musical forms is with the tablature, although it will take you a few readings and lessons to get used to its use. It is good that before you focus on learning chords, you play a few notes on the guitar. Written by Will Schmid and Greg Koch, Hal Leonard’s Guitar Method is another significant resource introducing basic anatomy to students. It starts by introducing the students to two different chords, which can be used to play many songs, as the book shows. So you learn to play songs in each step which motivates the students by showing them the results of their practices. This book is all about laying the groundwork, which is a huge point in the plus column for us. As much as we don’t like to get weighed down with too much info right off the bat, we like that this book starts by giving you a good foundation to work with, breaking down the basics of guitars, chords, technique, and other handy info. It also includes “secrets to guitar success,” which point out other helpful resources and tips — like listening to music outside your comfort zone. The book covers a wide range of topics, including scales, modes, chords, and ear training. Each lesson is clearly explained and accompanied by diagrams to help readers understand and apply the concepts being taught.

It helps you in so many musical scenarios, whether it is songwriting, improv solo-ing with a band, figuring out shapes, memorizing the fretboard is a must.It may sound pretentious that this book has the word “bible” in the same title, but it is certainly considered a biblical book for people who are starting their path in the world of electric guitar. This book contains over 100 exercises that help you develop finger dexterity, hand strength, and chording techniques. It includes popular songs that are a pleasure to play and can increase your skills. Take your guitar teaching to a new level! Hal Leonard’s top-selling comprehensive method for band and strings is now also available for guitar I might be just a teeny tiny bit biased here – this was my first ever guitar book, and I pretty much taught myself using this book. The introduction is a bit dry for the generation who is used to getting info from blogs and Youtube
