This is an amazing feature and tool; you can load a song from your iTunes library on your device into the app, and it will analyze the song and generate a chord chart for you. And then you can play along with the song while watching the app scroll through the chords; you can even transpose the song and the app will update the chord chart! In addition to this, you can choose other instrument sounds such as electric piano, organ, strings and more.
Yamaha actually offers the optional Yamaha FC3A piano-style pedal that feels and looks very similar to an acoustic piano pedal. So if you’re playing in a band, this feature will help you cut through the mix, though I can’t say it makes a huge difference.I do not recommend the P-125A anywhere near as much as the P-125 because Yamaha removed the audio interface from the USB to host port – this removes significant functionality (streaming audio both in and out of the piano) However, there are three functions added to the P-255 which makes it slightly better than the P-125: Key-off sampling, sustain sampling, and string resonance. Without going much into detail, these three help create piano sounds almost similar to real acoustic ones.

The Yamaha P125A is clearly a more-rounded performer, with more features and a far richer, fuller sound, and unlike some stage pianos and keyboards with a full 88-note range, the P125A is still able to generate a reliable tone at both of the farthest reaches of its sonic spectrum. Lesson Mode: This splits the keyboard into 2 halves with the same octave (so that you and a teacher can both play the same notes at the same time). Keys are heavily weighted than usual. Takes a lot of getting used to. But it helps strengthens your fingers
The physical footprint of the P-125a is not a lot larger than the keyboard itself, with a slim control panel running the full width of the instrument and housing speakers situated at each end. The surprising dimension is the height - presumably to accommodate the 2-way speaker system and the weighted keyboard mechanism, the chassis is pretty tall, giving the instrument a height, when placed on a flat surface, of 16.6cm. Since this is a portable piano, Yamaha have done an excellent job of keeping the overall weight down to a manageable 11.8kg. There are plenty of recesses on the underside to get your fingers into, making it easy to lug the unit around, but it’s only capable of running on mains power - no batteries here. With a maximum polyphony of 192 notes, the piano can handle complex musical pieces with rich layers of sound. It has built-in reverberation sound effects, enhancing the overall quality of the audio. Headphones come in very handy when you want to practice in private, focusing solely on your playing and not disturbing others nearby. Whether the Yamaha P-125 is the right piano for YOU really depends on your specific needs and interests. There is no doubt whatsoever that it provides massive value & tons of versatility for the price (almost all of the pianos that it typically gets compared to are more expensive). Newly upgraded, the two-way speaker system in the Yamaha P125A produces expansive sound both upwards and downwards. The master volume adjuster for this instrument comes through a slider button on the left side of the interface. It’s hard to miss. You can instantly see it, unlike in other complicated keyboard dashboards where you need to bend over just to find where the master volume is. Built-in Speakers
