Description

Alderline Natural Restaurant Grade Lumpwood BBQ Charcoal for Barbecues, BBQ Coal, 30L best and biggest lumpwood charcoal for professional use Specification: Weight: 12, 24, 36, 48 kg , Easy to light: yes , Uniformly shaped pieces: yes (Large lumps) Once lit, they stayed hot for a very long time and the temperature was even throughout so you can put on a lot of different foods to cook and it holds up. Suitable for longer cooking times. The food cooked really well and kept that authentic BBQ smoky flavour that we love. This charcoal is completely natural and organic made from white alder trees. This is always a great feature as it’s great for the environment, and doesn’t contain any chemicals so doesn’t produce any smoke or weird smells. Having tested it, I can say this is all definitely true.

The bag also has some medium sized coals which isn’t bad for filling in the gaps on the bbq starter or if you’re just laying them in the bbq. The Kamado above, I use the bbq starter, but the Uniflame, in the picture above that, I just lay the coals on the grate and use a few eco firelighters. Having odd shapes and sizes really helps to pile them together and get the heat rising up through and in no time a decent burn on your coal.As we assume, some nasty briquettes can be loaded up with chemicals that both affect the food flavour and the environment, so be careful to choose second-rate charcoal. Right off the bat I’ll tell you from testing it smokes a little to start, and definitely smokes if you let it get damp (woops my fault – it leaked under my cupboard somehow) but once it gets going it’s pretty much smokeless and goes for an hour plus easily at high temperature. This is absolutely cast in stone fact I’ve tested it dozens of times and what I’ve found on each occasion. How my testing job is so vigorous and difficult 😀

Along with the definition of lumpwood, the majority of them are completely natural and pure carbon. If you find bags labelled “hardwood lump charcoal” or “100% all-natural”, it is high-quality. Big K Instant Light Lumpwood Charcoal, 4x1kg Bags Instant BBQ Charcoal best lumpwood charcoal for speed but not my favourite as it’s bitty – remember this is filled with paraffinThe furious battle between lump and briquettes never comes to an end as they are the most popular coal fuel choices for barbecue. Thus, we always have reasons to persuade you to go for lump charcoal.

You can grab a Big K El Cubano 15kg Lump wood which is much cheaper compared to other products with the same size and grade. They’re really easy to light and burn very well and evenly. And they give the food a nice smokey flavour, too. Chilla-grilla seems to be the most sustainable product as harvesting from an invasive bush in Namibia. It ensures you with 100% natural lumpwood coal without chemicals added, giving your food an authentic smoky taste. As we’ve discussed above, there is a difference between cooking with large pieces and smaller pieces, the Alderline Natural Restaurant Grade Lumpwood BBQ Charcoal for example is as large as 20cm. Both have different advantages and it’s completely up to cooking preference and, mainly, what foods you’re cooking that determine which option to go for. Large pieces tend to create a long lasting burn, suitable for slow meats etc. Smaller pieces tend to inspire a shorter and hotter burn which I absolutely love for pizzas, especially when using a pizza stone. Big lumpwood bbq charcoal ideal for long cooking First, lump charcoal Chilla-Grilla from Big K is proud of its all-natural product. You can rest assured with its sustainable source for your BBQ. Another product from Big K, Drumbecue, is much more affordable lumpwood for a restaurant-grade label. The best thing ever is the bag. It really is practically impossible to make a mess in terms of it splitting. It just won’t: For those who long for products with all organic and sustainable sources, you shouldn’t miss our natural lump wood from Marienburg. This product is harvested from alder with 100% natural wood. And it also burns without smoke or odour, maintaining an environmentally friendly lifestyle for you. Required no lighting fluid, chimney starter, or any extras to ignite this coal, so lighting Alder lump wood is such a breeze just in 15 minutes. Then it will be ready to maintain a stable burn for your effortless barbecue experience. It is ready for barbecuing when lumpwood turns grey as they become covered in a layer of ash and any flames have fallen down. Plus, to make it a more natural barbecue, you don’t need to use chemical fire accelerators, chimney starters. Just use a natural firelighter or piece of paper to light this coal. Hence, if you do not get used to lighting a charcoal BBQ, it’s still a trouble-free experience using this charcoal fuel.
