About this deal

Appreciate the king of the Koopas when you build, display and play with LEGO Super Mario The Mighty Bowser (71411) 3D collectible figure. The base is surprisingly detailed, including elaborate tiled patterns around a strip of dark red carpet. Bowser's Castle is frequently decorated in this way and the golden 1x2 ingots provide welcome colour, complementing pearl gold elements on each column. The surface is relatively smooth and includes no studs to attach Bowser, although he stands securely without them. Lego™ is clear on the direction they are heading- ever better designs and ever larger prices. This set is something that makes me want to stay on that cool-ass bandwagon!" LEGO looks to repeat that feat once again with The Mighty Bowser, which has tremendous display presence because of its sheer size, but also has some really clever playable features built into it. The Build Experience

Starter Courses featuring LEGO Mario (71360), LEGO Luigi (71387) or LEGO Peach (71403) figures (sold separately) are required for interactive play Here the model displays a rare flaw. The rounded edge of the shell continues around the bottom but there's an unavoidable gap of a few millimetres which is impossible not to look at. This just blew me away. Every step of the way this set has wowed me but with each Bag it continues to out-do itself. The new 3x3 Cones have a hidden Axle Hole inside which enable it to strongly connect to the shell sections. I'm a little speechless here. Building the shell is so satisfying.

If LEGO Mario keeps up the concept of bigger bosses that automatically end levels, the Lord of Lightning would be awesome!

I read years ago that LEGO was producing one off sets to personal specifications for highly affluent customers. I can't remember where I saw the article, but it was in a magazine, and it even showed images of two such sets. They had an official looking box with iirc a seven or eight digit set number in a range I had never seen before (makes sense for one off sets of course). One set was some huge town layout with several buildings and vehicles, while the other was some large Technic type set of some construction vehicle. Bowser is, quite simply, the ultimate boss – and we’re delighted to announce that we’re introducing this oversized version to the LEGO Super Mario adult line for a little added peril,” said Carl Merriam, Senior Designer, LEGO Super Mario. “Since we launched LEGO Super Mario two years ago, we’ve been on such a journey – gradually expanding with the most iconic and recognizable characters of the LEGO Super Mario universe.

Overall

This must have been at least twenty years ago though. Would be interesting to know if LEGO still has such a program. Alas, peasants like us won't find out about that anymore nowadays, as TLG will surely want to keep this secret. " The brand-new LEGO® Super Mario™ The Mighty Bowser™ is for sale from October 1st, 2022 on www.LEGO.com and from select leading retailers around the world. The recommended retail price for The Mighty Bowser is 269.99 EUR/269.99 USD. Limited edition, highly sought after sets for 5-10k with exclusive minifigures. AFOLs wouldn’t be happy then would they? As I write this review, I am almost as far from the model as I can possibly be, on a little holiday before attending the Skaerbaek Fan Weekend. Fortunately, I got the model built and photographed before I left. This was interesting to me, too. Kind of an oddball thing to showcase in the video, as it's pretty obvious it's not made out of minifigure pieces. I guess it was to appease Nintendo, who are strictly anti-minifigure for whatever reason?"
