About this deal

Cornstarch: If you use a higher starch all purpose gluten free flour blend, like Cup4Cup, add another 1/4 cup (36 g) of the flour blend in place of the addition of cornstarch. Rich Tea Biscuits: I love using rich tea biscuits, digestives will give you a completely different texture! I crumble the biscuits into small crumbs usually leaving a couple bigger pieces, this adds a slight crispiness to the tiffin. Place your biscuits into a freezer bag and bash the biscuits into crumbs, remember to take the air out and tie the bag shut before bashing it. You could break the biscuits by hand into a large mixing bowl like I did. When rolling and cutting the dough: I find it so much easier with free from baking to work on a sheet of baking paper so you can roll the dough out

My daughter suffers from a dairy intolerance, I believe it is also something I have suffered with for a long time too, as dairy makes me feel very bloated as well as causing skin breakouts, however, over the years, I believe I just adjusted to those as well as other symptoms. As well as a dairy intolerance, we also have a weakness to gluten too, so we choose to eat a dairy and gluten free diet. I can take it or leave it, but the smallest amount, causes great discomfort for my daughter. When she was first diagnosed, it felt like a huge adjustment, however, now, with so many free from products available, we have now fully adjusted to a better, healthier diet. I really enjoy baking and experimenting and I absolutely love seeing how much my daughter enjoys working and rolling the dough and cutting the shapes out. You can also score the tiffin before you place it in the fridge, this means to pre-mark the tiffin into servings so that it will be easier to cut when chilled. It took a while and a lot of experimenting together to come up with a recipe we liked but we got there and at the beginning of every week we set about making biscuits together. Milk powder: You can use nonfat dry milk, whole milk powder, or even coconut milk powder for a dairy-free version.

Biscuits taste best the day they are made. If you have biscuits left over, cover and store at room temperature. Warm them slightly before eating, either in a toaster oven, air fryer, or microwave. How to Freeze Gluten-Free Biscuits. McVitie's makes digestives, and something called Hobnobs. There are also other companies that make digestive biscuits, but I don't know if anyone else makes Hobnobs. I've never had them, but I understand them to be like digestives but seem to be oaty and heartier. After mixing the biscuit dough, let it rest (sit in the bowl) for about 20 minutes while the oven heats. Resting the dough allows the gluten-free flour to absorb the liquid, making the dough easier to handle. It also reduces the gritty texture that sometimes occurs in gluten-free baked goods. Hello hungry friends! Today I'm celebrating my British heritage with some tasty Rich Tea Biscuits. Rich Tea Biscuits are as essential to British culture as apple pie is to American culture. Best known for being the most dunkable biscuit around, their biscuit-like consistency and subtle flavor will entice even the most anti-dunker to dunk!Baking the biscuits: The biscuits need to remain pale in colour, so don’t aim for the golden colour as this will result in your biscuits being over baked and make them extremely hard. Don’t bash the biscuits into very fine crumbs, you’ll want bigger pieces for texture. How Do You Cut A Chocolate Tiffin?

Raisins: I don’t just use standard raisins but chocolate raisins, they’re tastier and more tolerable for those of you who are not the biggest fan of raisins. You can use normal raisins or swap with other currants like cranberries to make a Christmas tiffin. A little salty with a hint of sweet, these Rich Tea Biscuits are the perfect cake to serve with afternoon tea or as an after-dinner dessert. A rich tea biscuits recipe that's not quite crunchy and not quite soft with a unique consistency and subtle flavor that makes this rich tea cake perfect for dunking. Rich Tea Biscuits (Vegan, Refined Sugar-Free)

Make Chocolate Tiffin Gluten-free

Gluten-Free Flour. Use a gluten-free flour blend. Since flour blends vary from brand to brand, each blend produces different results. Use a blend that contains xanthan gum. If it doesn’t, add one teaspoon xanthan gum to the flour blend. Without it, the biscuits spread. The recipe was tested with Bob’s Red Mill Gluten-Free Baking Flour. Add the cubed butter. Pulse a few times to cut the butter into the dry ingredients. The butter should be the size of peas, no smaller. Terrific biscuits without gluten are possible. This recipe makes light and fluffy biscuits that you can shape with a cutter or drop from a spoon. Enjoy them with butter, jam, or served as part of biscuits and gravy. Gluten-Free Biscuit Recipe: Ingredients and Dairy-Free Options. Crush the biscuits by bashing with a rolling pin or meat hammer inside a plastic bag. I can't find an eco-friendly alternative - apart from a paper bag and I don't have any. Maybe a cloth bag that's washable? GF Flour Blend: I originally developed this recipe for use with our gum-free gluten free flour blend along with the addition of some xanthan gum, and I believe that creates the perfect texture. But it still works using a xanthan gum-containing blend like Better Batter, which contains more xanthan gum than our addition.
