But with vitamin C, there is a downside to over-supplementing. Excesses can result in the formation of oxalate in the urine. Oxalate is a substance that doesn’t necessarily cause harm in moderate amounts, but too much of it in the right conditions can lead to urinary bladder stones. Even so, if you’re thinking of buying a Category C insurance write-off, it could be worth getting an independent inspection to warrant the quality of the repair work, deeming the car safe to be used on the public road.
