Currently the device doesn’t let you know which mode it is in. However, I believe this is due to be a feature in a future update. The reason behind this is due to this specific device supporting a range of disabilities. You recieve an alert if there is not enough light to process text, meaning it could be difficult in low-light situations. Again, the product does have an LED light so this should be enabled in later updated. Your device will now connect to the WiFi, and will reconnect automatically every time you connect your device to the wall charger, provided it is within range of the WiFi network. The glasses help with conditions that result in a loss of visual field, such as Myopic Degeneration, Glaucoma, Retinitis Pigmentosa, Diabetic Retinopathy, Retinopathy of Prematurity and other degenerative eye diseases. The glasses have also helped people with a visual impairment as a result of a stroke, such as Homonymous Hemianopia. Free testing sessions are available in London, Birmingham and with their partners (opticians, charities and low vision aids retailers) in other locations.

Despite it being the most affordable OrCam product, it is expensive. I’m fully aware it is a groundbreaking piece of kit, I just see so much potential and the price could make it unaffordable for people who really need it. Mit dem OrCam kann er zB seine Post wieder lesen, seine Zeitschriften und Bücher, und ist dadurch unabhängiger geblieben. Er möchte das Gerät nicht mehr missen und benutzt es täglich. Dadurch dass man den OrCam mit sich herum tragen kann, hat man die Lesehilfe immer griffbereit. Das Gerät ist einfach zu bedienen und funktioniert absolut zuverlässig und einwandfrei seit über einem Jahr Dauereinsatz!
