The rebellious Leia rose from an orphaned prisoner to a courageous space general and it is a beautiful and interesting journey.
The costume consisted of mid-calf length brown top with a fitted bodice and flared sleeves and fitted harem pants. The top was cinched at the waist by a belt made of the same material as the top. On top of that there is a sleeveless silk cloak with subtle embroidery and quilted detail at the shoulders. It has a more sophisticated and elegant design compared to her previous outfits, reflecting Leia’s role as a leader within the Rebel Alliance. Medical frigate Gown This costume is often referenced and recognized as a significant part of Leia’s character arc in “Return of the Jedi”. It has become a symbol of her role as a strong and resilient leader within the Rebel Alliance. Finally when I felt it was not too baggy but also not yet too tight, I made a half inch diagonal cut into the armpit area to allow room for a small hem. Cut the bottom length and the final cut of the arm length After the rough cut, but before the final cut of the sleevesPrincess Leia wears her most iconic of all costumes, the Classic white dress with space buns in the very first Star Wars movie released in 1977, titled “Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope.” The gown that Princess Leia wears in Star Wars is commonly known as her “Princess Leia white gown” or “Princess Leia’s white dress.” It was made of white crepe-de chine fabric and was designed by John Mollo. The Slave Leia/Metal Bikini costume consists of a gold brass bikini top, a brief bottom, and various accessories. This gown has since become one of the most recognizable and memorable costumes in the Star Wars saga. Step 6: Cut holes on the top and bottom of the ball droid. For the top, measure the width around your child’s chest and cut a hole slighter larger than that measurement. For the bottom, the hole should be wide enough so your child has enough leg room to walk.
Step 6: Spray paint the poncho in a camouflage pattern. I used the brightest green to cover the majority of the poncho with accents of brown and other greens. Let the poncho dry for at least 24 hours. Hooded poncho made of medium-weight tan or beige matte fabric (cotton or cotton blend recommended). I used an old queen size sheet that was earmarked for textile recycling at H&M anyway. Because of my height, I had to fold it diagonally to make sure it was long enough. I had no problem cutting the bottom corners off though so this was not an issue and saved me having to go out to buy a new piece of cloth. Note that you don’t need to line up the side edges perfectly since you’ll be cutting them off anyway! Cut out the head hole When I made my Endor commando and Rebel Briefing Leia my plan was of course to also make the full Leia Endor battle outfit, the only thing missing after all was the poncho. Well that was almost two years ago now, but I've finally made the poncho, or at least the fabric start. It also helped that I have around 20 meters of a sturdy cotton that I need to get into more managable piecec, it's the table cloth from my sister's wedding.Leia’s Endor Commando outfit consists of camouflage poncho, blue pants and braids wrapped around her head and is prominently featured in “Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi.” As a key member of the Rebel Alliance’s strike team, Leia dons this attire during the mission to destroy the shield generator on the forest moon of Endor, which protects the second Death Star. This gown is worn by Princess Leia Organa when she is aboard the Rebel Alliance’s medical frigate after the Battle of Hoth. The gown is predominantly white with a high collar, reflecting the medical staff’s attire on the frigate. Leia wears this gown while recovering from injuries sustained during the battle. This gown with a flowing, pure white silhouette is worn by Princess Leia in “Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope (1977) for a ceremony scene . Snowsuit (Hoth outfit) Poncho has 2 slit openings in the front at the natural body line to allow the belt to pass through the front of the poncho. There is at least another 8” / 20 cm of fabric from the slit to the edge of the poncho.
I cut a hole in the middle for my head to go through for this costume. I also cut a long strip of material and then folded it in half. You can then sew the frayed edges to your opening to create that collar. This is where you really have to let your perfectionist instincts go. It doesn’t matter if the seam here gets a little messed up, so long as the sleeve is entirely attached. Please trust me: no one will notice!We were loosing light fast with all our Saturday events going on. I was able to talk my hubby Grady from This Mormon Life to snap these pictures for me. He likes to remind me he is a collegiate photographer. But he is keeping status amateur so he can still compete in the photography Olympics. I am really excited to shoot our family pictures!!! This step took a few tries to get right. I didn’t want to over cut and end up with super tight sleeves and a snug body shape.
