Aye same for me. If I force to 5G preferred I get nothing. But I believe it is using 5G NSA (i.e over 4G) because of the colour of the led on the unit. I don't have the paperwork to hand but I'm sure it's blue if "5G" and green if not. Or something like that. You could also choose the cellular band channels by yourself, but it will probably give you a slower connection than if it can choose and change the cellular bands by itself. And remember – that’s just the average. While it could sometimes therefore be slower, it could also be faster. In fact, the EE Smart 5G Hub appears to be a rebadged Zyxel NR5103 (though EE hasn’t confirmed this). But that router is capable of speeds of up to 4.67Gbps – which is far more than you’ll get on any UK 5G network, but it helps ensure that it’s future-proof and could provide faster 5G in future once the infrastructure improves. Features and software

Arguably the most significant difference is how many devices each Hub can get online. With the latest Three 5G Hub – the Zyxel NR5103E - you can get up to 64 devices connected to the internet at once, but the previous one – the ZTE MC801A – could only get up to 30 devices online simultaneously. That’s understandable, and you shouldn’t let the age of this hardware put you off – 5G home broadband routers are rarely refreshed, and the EE Smart 5G Hub has competitive specs and speeds. The NR5101 is not just a network router - it also combines WLAN AP, LAN gateway, and USB 2.0 functions all into one box. Its WiFi 6 signal can be shared with up to 64 wireless devices simultaneously. The ability to operate in both bridge and router mode makes the device easy to deploy and integrate into your existing environment. Cutting-edge Connectivity EDIT2: Yep and if you force 5G - you get nothing. And if you force 4G you just get, 4G (see below). So it defo is best on "Auto" as that does make it use 5G.NR5101 / FWA510 Troubleshooting Table of Content (NR5101 / FWA510) A) LED Lights A1) LED Indication B) Reset the device C) Login to the device D) Connectivity issues? - Firmware Upgrade E) Connection unstable/slow and/or disconnections - Manual APN settings There’s a new Three 5G Hub out, but like the last model it’s just called the Three 5G Hub, which can lead to some confusion.

For most people this still probably won’t actually be an issue – 30 devices is still enough to get numerous phones, tablets, computers, consoles, and smart home devices online at the same time. But if a huge number of your gadgets are web-connected – and you have a lot of them on at any one time – then support for 64 will help. Other than the things detailed above, the Zyxel NR5103E and the ZTE MC801A have largely the same specs, including support for both 2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi. End-users or System Integrators may be responsible for managing the mobile routers and firewalls, switches, and APs.

Both the Zyxel NR5103E and the ZTE MC801A have two Ethernet ports, but while the Zyxel has four TS-9 antenna ports, the ZTE MC801A only has two. So the Zyxel has more tools to help you boost your signal if you’re in a poor signal area. Design It will also just give you peace of mind, as no one wants to be worrying that their router won’t have the capacity to get something online. Ports Mobile Routers uses SIM cards with Internet Service subscription to connect to nearby Cellular Antenna. And given the simple setup process, the EE Smart 5G Hub is also easy to rehome if you move house, or you could even potentially take it with you on holiday. Performance and speeds

So is this the 5G home broadband router for you? Below we’ll dive into all of that to help you come to a decision. Design Tech Library offering additional technical information to business users: https://www.zyxel.com/global/en/support/tech-library It’s worth noting that Three charges considerably less for its 5G router plans, as well as offering the same router hardware. Enable the APN Manual Mode and put in the information you got from your internet service provider (ISP). 2) Cellular Band configuration When 5G meets WiFi 6, they can boost larger bandwidth and capacity than legacy solutions. These two cutting edge technologies come together in the NR5101, bringing new heights to performance and capacity for mobile users and IoT devices in commercial buildings. The NR5101 deploys AX1800 WiFi 6, which can deliver up to 4x the speed compared to WiFi 5. Multi-Function RouterThe actual plans it’s available on are on the pricey side, but are still just about competitive, and EE’s 5G coverage is widespread, so there’s a fair chance you’ll be able to get it in your home. The Vodafone GigaCube 5G is different though. This is a rebranded Huawei 5G CPE Pro, as is the old 5GEE Home Router, which this newer EE router replaces. This is true of all 5G routers, so it’s not a selling point specific to the EE Smart 5G Hub, but it does give it the edge over fibre broadband, which typically involves an engineer visit.
