Gilbert Durandal shares a similar version of Char's philosophy concerning the important role of genetics with his Destiny Plan just as Char attempted to drop Axis to force humanity to space to evolve to Newtypes, though it could be said Gilbert was legitimately dedicated to his goal whereas Char used the Axis drop merely as a cover for his true goal of settling things with Amuro. It is no surprise as they both share the same Japanese voice actor. Stored within each forearm, the beam sabers can be handheld or be deployed directly as the storage cover is lifted. Miss Sazabi's main close combat weapon, it is modified from Sazabi's beam tomahawk and has an additional beam blade emitter extending horizontally from the bottom of the grip.
