About this deal

Got the long list above after the car decided to not talk to the PATS module I think and immobilized. Reset fault codes and it seemed happy then a lot of configurations altered (chime beeping continuously in reverse gear; speed warning chime at 120 km/h; the 5 km/h offset is gone; the engine is cutting off at 7000 RPM – normally it could run up to 8000 RPM – ; I got an extra menu item, “hill launch assist”, which would be nice, if it would work)

This update will enable a system which tries to detect a deflating tyre. This system does not use sensors in the wheel, instead it uses the ABS wheel speed sensors to detect when a wheel is rotating at a different speed to the others when it shouldn’t be. A deflating wheel will have a smaller circumference, so will rotate faster than the other wheels. This may not work on all cars. for me upload / save / write buttons are all named wrongly which is most of the confusion. If it had "Save to PC" and "Write to vehicle" it would make MUCH more sense

How to Setup your ELM327 with Elmconfig

What i saw was >K followed by what i typed each time , i had to over write the commands each time twice before i got each one to OK or >K Solder pin 6 (which you just de-soldered) to the middle pin on your switch (middle bottom in diagram) I'm trying to enable cruise control on my Focus Mk2.5 1.6 TDCi, and am getting extremely slow speeds doing the initial step of "Read firmware from PCM to BIN-file". as I say may be wrong.... if I was right, the 2meg engine map would thus have or could have three elements to the map, at this point Forscan showed a scrolling list of the modules it had found (after prompting me to toggle the toggle switch between MS & HS positions to complete the listing)

love the post about follow the instructions to the letter. I have NEVER seen a complete set of instructions... that's the whole problem. The type of ELM327 software will all depend on the make and model of your vehicle. The ELM327 microchip is primarily designed to work with modern vehicles that utilize the CAN OBD2 protocol (ISO 15765-4). However, the chip is also compatible with the following OBD2 protocols: thinking more clearly.... there are three elements inside the PCM as I said, 1) Engine Map, 2) Immobiliser info 3) the disabled cruise control software. could you please help me with some AS Built data (if you have) for a Ford Focus MK2 2.0 petrol 107 kW model? The FoCCCus software is no longer developed any further. There will never be full support for the MK3.5. I've explicitly set the adapter to use 500,000bps in ELMConfig, and it confirms that setting in the window titlebar.

I tried searching specifically for people enabling cruise control on the same PCM as I have (EDC16C34-2), and I found Milosh's post where he details having the same problems as me. However, in my case, all the configuration fields seem to be correctly filled in already, including the Tire/Axle ratio. You can save the Changed AS-BUILT information if you like and also save the connection log file if you like. Ensure there is NO yellow exlamation marks (that looks like this ) next to devices such as: USB-Serial CH340 | FT232R USB UART Prolific | USB-to-Serial | USB Serial Port | USB2.0-Serial | Silicon Labs CP210x USB to UART Bridge I worked on a lot of cars, and I really mean a LOT! I started tinkering with cars in high school. My experience allowed me to test drive and diagnosis a multitude of makes and models, including prestigious German cars. Before you modify the interface I suggest you get the Elm interface and the program working and talking to your car before modifying it so you can then access all modules. If you have an older car, you will need to verify the OBD2 protocol of your vehicle. This will ensure that your scanner and ELM327 software is compatible with your vehicle.

You cannot read and erase error codes with this software. It does mostly same stuff as ELMconfig but has a different selection of vehicles. Do not use this software if you are not sure what you are doing. Elmconfig is a program written by a guy on a Ford Focus forum (civil-zz) that uses the widely available ELM OBD reader/controller interface. Not only is this a useful DTC code reading tool but also a handy programming tool to modify various options and to enable features on Ford cars. Please do not attempt any mods unless you are comfortable to do so. Do any mods at your own risk. This resulted in a list of options including, in my case, puddle lights and retractable rear view mirrors. (Just about every factory option seems to be listed including Cruise control, Global Open/Close, City Stop, Auto headlights,… I haven’t tried editing any of these though)FORScan Lite for Android - attention: some functions are missing in FORScan Lite. Please see comparison of applications Hook up the ELM327 OBD2 scanner or Bluetooth interface in the OBD2 port of your vehicle. All car models after 1997 are required to have the OBD2 port. If you are using a USB scanner, simply connect the USB interface to your laptop. Note: when connecting if FORScan says “No ELM Found”, flip the toggle switch to the other position and restart the connection process. If the OHP ELMconfig USB device connects, this is the HS-CAN position.Mark the adapter accordingly.
