About this deal

Although our stains are always thoroughly tested for colour consistency, the perceived colour of the stain once applied may vary depending on the qualities of the wood you are applying it to and the method of application. Viewing colours via screen will also alter the perceived colour of a colour swatch. For this reason, we always recommend to try a 50ml sample bottle from our ready to use range prior to purchasing a larger quantity.

Please note - Colourless does not give UV protection however it can be used on previously stained timbers to maintain the existing colour) Available :- 7 colours plus colourless- Limba, Mahogany, Chestnut, Light Oak, Antique oak, Teak, Walnut. and colourless. If using our wood stain on exterior vertical timber surfaces, we would recommend using Osmo's UV Protection Oil Clear as a top coat for increased longevity*** Ideal for long term protection of windows, doors, conservatories, fascias, and all other interior and exterior timber structures which needs to maintain its dimensions.PREPARATION: Ensure that the surface is clean, dry and free from dirt and dust and any previous finish. If sanding, the wood should be sanded with the grain, using 150 – 220 grit abrasive paper. Impra Profilan Top coat is a microporous top coat wood stain, suitable for hard and soft woods, interior and exterior applications, produces a satin finish and offers very long lasting protection, moisture regulating and age resistant, use Impra Profilan Base Coat (Fina) as a primer/first coat on new bare timber. Village Green Wood Stain is a premium quality, non-toxic, odour free wood stain, for interior and exterior use, that will enhance your wood with a colourful vibrance that brings it to life. Rich and deep, light and exuberant, modern or traditional; tones and shades that will suit your style and personality. Water-based stains use water-based finish as the binder and replace most of the organic thinner with water. So these stains pollute less, are less irritating to be around and are easier to clean up than oil or varnish stains. You can identify water-based stains by their thinning and clean-up solvent: water. 4. Is water based stain better?

Advice: 2 coats are recommended with further coats increasing the solidity of the colour. Wood Stain + Protect is a wood stain coating so will wear off over time. If applying Wood Stain + Protect to a garden building that will be subjected to high levels of exposure to weather, it is recommended that you apply Protek Clear Tough Coat as a top coat. Osmo Natural Oil Wood Stain has a very high coverage, minimum two coat application required with easy maintenance just one coat on a clean dry surface, no sanding required. Although our stains are always thoroughly tested for colour consistency, the perceived colour of the stain once applied may vary depending on the qualities of the wood you are applying it to and the method of application. Viewing colours via screen will also alter the perceived colour of a colour swatch. For this reason we always recommend to try a 50ml sample bottle from our ready to use range prior to purchasing a larger quantity. Water-based stains require a little more time and effort than oils, but it pays off with significantly greater durability. Oil based stains are easy to apply and take less effort, but they will not last nearly as long as a water based stain. 3. What is water based stain used for? Osmo UV Protection Oil 410 or 420 can also be applied as a finishing coat on the Natural Oil Wood Stain to further enhance the UV Protection creating greater long term protection from UV degradation.FINISH: For fencing / sheds etc, this stain is often sufficient enough, however if you do wish to apply a finish, allow 24-48 hours for the stain to fully dry before finishing. Depending on the application, you can finish your stained wood using a wax, oil, varnish or lacquer. COVERAGE: 12-15 square metres per litre of diluted stain on sanded wood (7-10 square metres on rough sawn timber) Our Village Green concentrate is probably the most versatile wood stain on the market. The dilution ratio of the concentrate can be varied to suit your project. Higher concentrations give a vivid colour finish while lower concentrations make it a very cost-effective, high-coverage product. AG Woodcare offline opening times
