I experimented a lot with the various clutch trigger settings and found myself most comfortable going for either hairline or full pull rather than relying on the middle ground. This meant I could more easily pull off headshots in twitch-based games like Battlefield 2042 and also enjoy full control in Ride 4 without choosing an in-between. One thing I love about the Victrix BFG Pro is how it’s recognized as a native Xbox Series X controller by a gaming PC which means you don’t have to jump through the same hoops as you would when trying to connect with a DualSense. It adds extra value as a controller you can use across multiple systems without worry, and when you’re paying this much,, that’s the least we should expect.

Technically, those three aren't the only missing features. Though the BFG has the PlayStation button, you cannot turn the console on with the controller. This really isn't an inconvenience, considering the PS5 has an HDMI link feature that can power on the console when your TV is turned on. When we were testing the Nacon, we were particularly impressed by the comfort of it - it felt great to hold and use for long periods of time. However, a downside when we tried it was the fact that a USB wireless dongle was needed. Now, this is very much based on my own preference, remember. And just because I use the BFG for twitch-shooters doesn't mean that the DualSense Edge can't be used for them as well. Similarly, the BFG would work great for third-person games, it just isn't my go-to choice. Moreover, it feels great to use. Although it's a little lightweight and doesn't have any rumble functionality, the fact you can shape it to suit your favourite features in a controller is what makes it truly shine. Versatility is one thing, but not having to compromise on function or comfort to get it is not all that common. First and foremost, all great PS5 controllers allow you to play your favorite games. No matter the brand or functionality, these devices should seamlessly connect to the console, either wirelessly or by plugging in. Directional and selection controls are absolute musts, but from there, what you’ll need really depends on the games you play. By and large, the cheapest PS5 controller also tends to be the most reliable: The good old DualSense controller that comes with the console.

You want something cheaper: This is one of the most expensive controllers on this list as you're paying a huge premium for something that has been designed specifically for FPS games. FULL WIRELESS AND WIRED COMPATIBILITY: With the Mode Switch, players can easily swap between PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC (using X input) devices. Yes, the BFG is officially licensed, but that doesn't mean it retains all of the features found in the DualSense. This includes adaptive triggers, arguably the coolest console controller advancement in recent memory. As a primarily pro-style controller, the omission of adaptive triggers in favor of trigger stops makes sense. You want more battery life: The battery life here is worse than on the original DualSense, so it's worth looking elsewhere if that's something that bothers you.

Adaptive trigger resistance can offer some interesting gameplay angles when supported well, although it's a shame the ability to fine-tune its levels isn't the easiest without the more expensive Edge model. Moreover, in older models of this controller, it isn't uncommon to see trigger springs break or lose tension entirely when a game only tunes this resistance up to full. Kena: Bridge of Spirits crippled my original PS5 controllers. The DualSense Edge is designed to build upon the foundations set by the standard DualSense controller while providing a more pro setup for gaming, but when it comes to deciding on which controller is better, its usually down to user experience. If you're looking for a more pro build for your controller, we'd recommend the Edge, but you'll need to prepare to pay for premium. Do I need a pro controller for PS5?

This controller uses 2.4GHz radio frequency range, when the PS5™ console or other products use the same radio frequency range, it may give negative influence mutually. Seriously, this is the comfort I wanted from the DualSense, and I have no idea why rounded corners don't feature in the regular DualSense.

The Function LED will illuminate Yellow when the left clutch trigger is being adjusted, Turquoise for the right clutch trigger, and Green if both left and right are being adjusted simultaneously.
