About this deal

K samotnej zápletke : tá je celkom jednoduchá a priamočiara, zámena dievčat, kde jedna bude roztlieskavačkou a druhá organizátorkou plesu. Okay. I'll start with the wedding. So the last thing I remember from this series was the upcoming wedding plans for Charles Vega and Lillian. I even stated in my review of the 12th book that I expected this book to be the plot that circles around the wedding. Unfortunately it isn't. The wedding was barely mentioned actually. There weren't details about the planning, decorations, cake, dress, drama, tears, etc. But it was nice to know some facts about it. I guess if Ms. Mercer did focus on the wedding as the plot for this book it wouldn't be as much as a My Sister The Vampire book. So it was okay that the wedding plot plan that I had in my head didn't happen. I understood. If you’re looking for a way to introduce your tween to classic vampires, this isn’t it. These vampires have no fangs (literally—they file them off). But the books are fun and cute without being insipid—good escapism for the 8 to 11 year old set. They might also be good for reluctant readers because they’re short but fun to read, and they don’t feel too much like little kid books.

Ivy eventually reveals to Olivia that she's a vampire (along with most of the other goths in Franklin Grove). Flipping Out!– The twins are adjusting to high school, but everything is still topsy turvy. Ivy’s flipping out about being the most popular girl in school. All she wants is some time to herself, but her band of superfans are clinging to her tighter than bats to a cave. Meanwhile, Olivia is on a matchmaking mission. But will Queen Goth Amelia and Skater Boy Finn be able to put aside their differences and realize they are head over heels for each other? The story takes place at Franklin Grove Middle School Franklin Grove is not your normal middle school. Everything seems dark and dreary. But the kids don't seem to mind, since they are into all things dark. Once the girls start talking, they realize they have the same birthday, birth town, adoption drop off date, and the same emerald ring. They aren’t just twins. They are identical twins, sort of. Switched is the first novel in Mercer's My Sister the Vampire series which has since been followed up by five additional installments, with two more being published in 2011. It is a very interesting and original story, with likeable characters and a believable setting. Ivy and Olivia have a pretty fantastical story, but they deal with issues that are common in middle school: crushes, bullies, peer pressure, and self-confidence. The vampire aspect of the story only adds to the fun. Although this installment of the series does not go into too much detail about exactly how Ivy and Olivia were separated at birth and why Ivy is a vampire but Olivia isn't, Mercer manages to make the reader care enough about her characters to want to find out how they came to be in their situation. A very good start to a popular series for tweens.

Olivia and Ivy's twelfth fright-time adventure. Ivy and Olivia are together again - and not a moment too soon. The whole vampire community is in a flap. Can the twins discover the identity of the mystery blogger who's determined to expose Franklin Grove's biggest secret? Sienna Mercer is the queen of Intermediate or tween books, in my opinion. Even as a young adult and reading her books as a young adult makes me have so much respect for her because her works captivate me with awe and excitement. That even if this was meant for a younger audience I enjoy it in the eyes of one (and it also helps that I'm a child-at-heart). I also read this in the level of a tween so that I can recommend my future students to read it. Secrets and Spies– There’s always a lot of stuff to keep hidden in Franklin Grove (like, um, the fact that vampires exist), but suddenly everyone seems to have gone into secrecy overdrive! Ivy’s sure that new girl Maya is up to something, and it involves Ivy’s boyfriend, Brendan. Twin sister Olivia wants to help her get to the bottom of it, but first she has to work out what’s up with their stepmom. She’s behaving like a zombie-which is super weird for a vampire.Uznávam, že asi už mám viac ako cieľová skupina mid-grade, ale táto kniha bola osviežujúcim prekvapením. Aunt Clara also reveals she has taken up exercising using aerobics during her time recovering at the hospital with a physical therapist:

The story is told in third person. The plot is about Olivia filming who in London with her ex boyfriend and Ivy becomes popular at high school. The intended audience is for young-teen and the genre is fiction because vampires aren’t real. The author kept me interested because it is easy to read and there aren’t that many hard words. The author’s style is contemporary so that young teen can relate to the characters in the story. A funny, super-girly story with a vampire bite to it. Sink your teeth into Ivy and Olivia's fourteenth fright-time adventure! The twins are adjusting to high school, but everything is still topsy turvy. Ivy’s flipping out about being the most popular girl in school. All she wants is some time to herself! But her band of superfans are clinging to her tighter than bats to a cave. Meanwhile, Olivia is on a matchmaking mission. But will Queen Goth Amelia and Skater Boy Finn be able to put aside their differences and realise they are head over heels for each other?Ivy Vega is an 8th grader. She is your UBER Goth type. She also has the ability to give anyone the "squinty eye," and get them do what she wants. There isn’t exactly a ton of character development—the trouble-making characters will pretty much always make trouble—and some of the plots are rather predictable, but at the core is a message of acceptance, both of yourself and of the people you love. Secrets are central in many ways, but they don’t keep secrets from each other or from their parents for very long. Even when they’re nervous about telling the truth, it’s never as bad as they fear. I’ve mentioned my issues with secrets elsewhere, and these books feel like an antidote to that in some ways. SPOILER ALERT: Things you might want to know before suggesting this to your kid Family A funny, super-girly story with a vampire bite to it. Sink your teeth into Olivia and Ivy’s fifteenth fright-time adventure. There’s always a lot of stuff to keep hidden in Franklin Grove (like, um, the fact that vampires exist), but suddenly everyone seems to have gone into Secrecy Overdrive! Ivy’s sure that new girl Maya is up to something, and it involves Ivy’s boyfriend, Brendan . . . Oh my darkness! The series follows a pair of long-lost twin sisters named Olivia Abbott and Ivy Vega (they were separated as babies and adopted into different families when they were a year old). After Olivia and her adoptive parents move to the town of Franklin Grove due to a job transfer, Olivia eventually discovers that, in addition to her and Ivy being long-lost twin sisters, Ivy's also a hiding a very grave secret. Twin girls separated at the age of one year old find one another at school. One is a Goth/Vampire; the other is a Pink/Bunny cheerleader ("Bunny" being what the vampires in these stories call non-vampires.) Despite their extreme differences in self-expression, they feel an immediate love and appreciation for one another, even before they realize they are twin sisters.

Despite that Olivia is a cheerleader in love with pink, and Ivy is a pale goth fanatic, they both become best friends. The twins discover that they're also vampire royalty (their biological father is the son of a count). My Sister the Vampire is a cheery urban fantasy series dealing with the troubles of a middle school (and later high school) kid navigating through moving to a new city and discovering a previously unknown identical twin sister. The series was written in a fiction mill by multiple authors all writing under the pen name Sienna Mercer. Originally printed in the UK by Harper Collins, Scholastic later ran a reprint of the first 13 books with updated cover art and 6 of the books re-named. Unfortunately, to add more confusion, the 13th book was re-named the same title as the 18th.I was 17 when I first read this book series, now I am 19 and I still have the same reaction to these books as I did two years ago; Much better,” said Mom—but she was looking at Tim and Sarah suspiciously. “He’s coming home from the hospital next week. Now what’s all this about an accident? Aunt Clara, are you all right?” The Café Creative fashion show is just around the corner, and everyone who's anyone is ready to strike a pose. Everyone except Ivy, that is. Modeling is her worst nightmare! Twin sister Olivia is there to lend a hand. But soon strutting down the catwalk is the least of their worries, when a priceless accessory goes missing. Is there a couture crook in Franklin Grove? Sienna Mercer grew up in Toronto, Canada. She was an only child, and always wanted a brother or sister – especially a twin. A twin would have been awesome! Sadly, she never got that sister so, when she was grown up, she did the next best thing - she wrote books about a girl who reminded her of herself, and gave her the most fun, fabulous twin she could think of!
