About this deal

When I cut them in half, they kept their shape well, which was pleasing as sometimes if scones are too dry they can crumble all over the place. These are enriched with Cornish clotted cream and buttermilk, and even without anything on, they tasted buttery and well seasoned. For a chocaholic, these were very disappointing scones. There was nodiscernable smell, and I expected more flavour – I couldn't taste the chocolate drops at all. To make things worse, the drops started to melt after the scone had been in my hand for a couple of minutes. Never again. Aldi Specially Selected Baked in Britain Sultana All Butter Scones (89p for four) Reviewed by Paul Dimery – Boundless digital editor It's slowly but surely getting warmer, which means many of us will be indulging in a good old cream tea, we wanted to find the best scone to accompany the popular sweet treat in terms of taste and value. Add the liquid ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir until all is moistened and holds together. Stir in additional milk or half and half if the dough seems dry, and doesn't come together. Make the glaze by stirring together the sugar, water, and vanilla. If the sugar seems particularly lumpy, sift it first, for an extra-smooth glaze. They use an original recipe that has been perfected over three decades and offer twelve unique flavors throughout the year, depending upon the season. The scones are presented in a lovely keepsake round gift tin that would make an ideal gift for anyone that loves fresh, gourmet scones. Highland Gourmet Scones – Classic Assortment Scones Highland Gourmet Scones is based just south of Birmingham, Alabama. They’re a family owned and operated bakery, specializing in premium gourmet scones.

Scones aren’t something I buy in regularly, but I do enjoy them, especially with traditional clotted cream, jam and a cup of tea. I have to say, these Sainsbury’s scones tasted delicious.Baked golden brown, these scones looked great, and they also had a lovely, light texture. I found them tasty on their own with butter, though they would also make a very good base for adding your own toppings. Recommended. Something else important to note about Seven Sisters Scones – they offer a good selection of dietary restricted scones for delivery, like gluten free and vegan. You can choose a chef’s selection gluten free or vegan box or a create-your-own subscription box also in either vegan or gluten free. Bake the scones for 19 to 20 minutes, or until they're golden brown. Remove the pan from the oven, and allow the scones to cool right on the pan. When they're cool, cut each scone in half once again, to make a total of 64 tiny triangles. Don't be too particular here; in fact, if the scones are already a size you like, don't bother to cut them again. But if you decide to cut, don't stress about making them all the same size, or perfect triangles; trust us, no one but you will care once they're glazed and on the table. Scones are the ultimate English tradition and a must in any afternoon tea. Whether you top yours with cream then jam, or jam then cream, they are best served warm straight from the oven.

Many reviewers comment that they’re the best scones they’ve ever had and that they make an excellent gift idea for friends and family alike.
