As LtL we would always suggest that schools and early years settings focus on children’s experiences outdoors – not starting with a play item from a catalogue. We have a range of audit tools for you to use, available to members. A good starting place is our free Playtime Revolution training, play policy exemplars, our school grounds audit tools and school grounds videos. We also suggest you explore advice on loose parts play, on open sand and play logs in school grounds.

All staff carry out research, from Duncan Goodwin's work on the environmental and social benefits of green infrastructure and urban trees, to Honoré van Rijswijk's investigation into 'small urbanism' – how small-scale developments can be a catalyst for urban regeneration when public budgets are tight.Its practitioners are tasked with imagining future cities as well as resolving problems such as flooding, transport links and even issues of local identity in the face of new developments. ask for advice along the way, people who have been there before you can really help you on your own journey Designing Learning Landscapes is an experience. Although similar in title, our two organisations (Learning through Landscapes and Landscapes for Learning) are very different in history, experience and services provided.
