I know this is a satire. I know it’s not meant to be serious. But boy, it was insta dislike for me. I hated the main character. I loathed her. She was so righteous and just not real. Nothing about her was relatable. If she was a bit more down to earth, a bit less of this “I am a loaded influencer “ stuff… maybe I am too old for that influencer scene… HOW TO KILL MEN AND GET AWAY WITH IT is an aggressively decent read, but it's heavy on the gore and I don't really think the cover prepares you for that. There's a lot of rather graphic torture and murder scenes, including some of animals. The tonal shifts were rather jarring, although I do think this would translate well to the screen. I kept envisioning it as one of those quirky streaming murder shows, like My Life Is Murder or Ms. Fisher's Modern Murder Mysteries. I think it would translate well to screen. It was just a little too much for me and I felt like the ending was a little silly. Remember that while it may seem as if these suicidal thoughts and feelings will never end, this is never a permanent condition. You WILL feel better again. Although it might seem as if your pain and unhappiness will never end, it is important to realize that crises are usually temporary. Solutions are often found, feelings change, unexpected positive events occur. Remember: suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. Give yourself the time necessary for things to change and the pain to subside. Even problems that seem hopeless have solutions Steve's short story books are written in a true story style that will send shivers down your spine! There are sights, sounds, and experiences in life that have the ability to delight and lift you—and that you would miss.
