About this deal

Overall it’s a really good shoe for your casual, easy runs (I also have done a couple progression runs in these which felt really good!). This is also a durable shoe and you’ll be able to do many, many runs before retiring your pair. The Infinites were the first shoe UA I trialed under their HOVR™ line. This model was designed for distance running and provides a “consistent underfoot feel”. The Infinite’s are also the heaviest in weight and provide the most cushioning out (next to the Machinas) in contrast to any of the other shoes. I wouldn’t say that they are designed for races or fast intervals because you could find a lighter shoe, but they are a great everyday running shoe that will keep your foot stable and reduce unnecessary impact.

Along with companies like Hoka and On, Under Armour is part of a “new” wave of running shoe brands that launched in the past few decades. Founded by University of Maryland football player Kevin Plank in 1996, Under Armour’s technical base layers rapidly gained popularity among athletes, leading to broader appeal for shorts, sweats, and other athletic apparel. It’s important for me to point out my foot type and personal preference before we go into the wear trials, since this directly impacts my experience and opinion of each shoe model. I’m going to sound like a redundant troll, BUT I need to reiterate this one more time before we dive into my specific wear trials: there is no universal type of shoe that works well for everyone. The Clone upper, a design feature found across the Under Armour running shoe line, is a woven fabric that’s crafted with a specialized stitch pattern that allows your shoe to adjust its shape to fit your foot when you put it on. For everyday use (gym, lower mileage runs) you could get away with any of the above models, but I would say the shoe that best fits in this category is the Sonic 2 model. Where to Buy

I was also quite impressed with the app and I’ve found myself enjoying the audio-coaching feature, especially the comments on the real-time cadence that help me stay aware of my form.

Our Sportsshoes.com Trail Running Ambassador, Ben Mounsey, has been busy putting the Under Armour HOVR Mega 2 Clone running shoesto the test. Here he provides a detailed review and compares them to the Under Armour Flow Velociti Wind.
