In Happily Ever After we get to read three scenes from Celeste’s point of view. We get to read about the ride to the palace, and see that she was actually lonely, and wanting someone to fangirl with. We get to read about the kiss that America catches. We also get to see the scene where Celeste is dismissed, and I realised that she’s actually a decent human being. The Prince and The Guard talked about both Maxon’s and Aspen’s views on The Selection, which was fun to read. Even more critics will say romance isn’t realistic, that the stories don’t reflect reality. For one, there actually are people out there who have found their One True Love in a way they would describe as a “sweeping romance” or “fairytale love story.” For two, are you actually telling me that Fiction has to accurately reflect reality? Is that really an argument you want to make? Please, allow me to direct your attention to the entire speculative fiction genre umbrella, thrillers, action/adventures, medical fiction, westerns, and basically every fiction book that has ever been published and most of the memoirs. We don’t read books to read exactly the same things that happen in our real lives. Or, at least, I don’t. Nor anyone I personally know. But you do you, I guess?I didn’t like Lawrence from the beginning there was something sketchy and pushy about him. In the end my assumptions were accurate. Plus I never felt any chemistry between the two especially with his no PDA in public. Now the natural affection and chemistry between Reid and Zora was so alluring and magnetic. He was more attentive to Zora’s needs and what she wanted unlike Lawrence. I loved seeing their love triangle unfold through the eyes of someone on both receiving ends. I knew who the better suitor would be for Zora before she even made a decision.
