About this deal

Next on this review is the Reebok GB40 Exercise Bike which provides you with 4 different fitness programmes to choose from and are easily managed through the easy to use LCD screen. Simple in this case does not mean less. Included with the Reebok GB40s are 19 user programmes (12 pre-set), time target, calories, distance and heart rate that is measured from the pulse hand grips. This paired with the 32 levels of tension control make this the perfect combination for every level of fitness enthusiast. Negative points There are 32 levels of resistance tensions availablei in total which are electronically controlled, the flywheel weight is 9kg and there are 19 different user friendly programmes to choose from be it manual, pre-set or user defined programmes.

The console itself is well organised and logical without too many buttons which makes controlling this bike simple. The addition of a tablet holder and a USB charging port is a really nice touch, though don’t fall into the same trap we initially did and think you can connect your device to the bike – you can’t. The USB is purely for charging purposes but this does mean that you can take nice long workouts while watching your favourite shows or reading a book without worrying if you’re going to run out of power. Oh and there’s a water bottle holder. Some people swear by padded gel saddles – as the default on even upper end exercise bikes can be hard on the behind! I would also recommend a rubber mat. These are inexpensive and can save wear on your carpets or hardwood floors. Working Out on the GB40 from Reebok – Console and Adjustable Resistance Want my verdict? Buy this bike. It’s so cheap for what it can give you it’s an undeniably good investment. From the comfort features to the workout-enhancing programs, this compact machine, with compact technology and a compact price is simply worth it.CONSIDERATE】 Equipped with LCD monitor - real-time detection of heart rate/time/distance/calories/speed/mileage; Equipped with iPad stand - watching TV shows while exercising. With a robust 9 kg flywheel at the heart of the GB40S, the One Series Bike delivers consistently smooth and seamless rotations for enhanced home cycling. Featuring a clear and intuitive 5.5" LCD console, the GB40S relays live workout data straight to your screen, allowing you to monitor and assess your training output for more motivated and effective workouts. Also providing your heart rate in real-time via the hand pulse sensors, the GB40S Bike offers a complete training picture.

There are 8 levels of manual resistance to work through depending on how hard you want to work and both the saddle seat and handlebars are adjustable to suit your individual needs. Please note that the saddle height can be adjusted from between 66cm up to 90cm.On a more positive note, it’s nice to see the addition of a user defined programme which is simple enough to set up and a recovery test that will rate your fitness on 6 levels ranging from poor to excellent. Again it would be nice if there were more than one profile, but one profile is better than no profile so we’re not going to complain too much here. Another bike that is worth a closer look is the Reebok Jet 100 Exercise Bike that includes 19 different user programmes to choose from and also 32 levels of resistance so you can gradually increase the intensity level as you see fit. It is also 50% assembled when delivered and the handles are adjustable. Another area where the GB40 exercise bike could use a bit of improvement is the console. It has no heart rate receiver and no user profile settings. The console on the GB40 is, as you might expect on a manual bike, basic. The screen is bright and easy-to-read and the basic data is easy to see. There are 4 workout options (based on time, distance, calories and manual) to choose from. Three of these are based on a metric that the computer can calculate and are target based. eg Set your workout to last for 15 minutes, and the computer will count down 15 minutes. Set your target for calorie burn, and the computer will calculate theoretical calorie burn based on RPM, distance, speed and time elapsed and you stop pedalling when you reach your target. Of course, this is very limited in nature but nevertheless, it does do a job. The reason for this limitation is that the GB40 features a manual resistance system rather than a one that’s computer-controlled.
