place afloat after their father's (Keith David) death, but financial strains are pressuring the sale to nearby showman and ex-TV child star Jupe Park Filmmaker Jordan Peele explores the frightening and peculiar world of UFOs, as well as human psychology and a number of underlying themes, in plenty of other goings-on to sweeten the pot. Peele has once again built a film that is novel and engaging, stable and confident, and well capable of

For its presentation in Ultra HD Nope was derived from 6.5K/film (Super 35/70) sources and finished on a 4K DI. It's a weird film in some ways. Well acted, well shot, has a fairly unique twist and some excellent set-pieces, but still a bit "meh" by the end. To my mind it doesn't have the impact of 'get out' or 'us', and is a clever idea but a slightly disappointing film. welcome, series of improvements over the excellent and concurrently released Blu-ray. The picture here is obviously cleaner, crisper, sharper, more efficient, and Shadows: The Making of Nope (1080p, 56:05): A comprehensive, film-quality piece that explores Peele's workmanship andnarratively driven filmmaker quite nicely. Nope is very much in the style of classic Shyamalan with a sprinkling of Spielberg, crafting a film The film is basically a pastiche of those two aforementioned movies, featuring Daniel Kaluuya and Keke Palmer as Otis “OJ” Haywood, Jr. and Emerald “Em” Haywood, the son and daughter of the late Otis Haywood, owner of Haywood’s Hollywood Horses Ranch. Jordan Peele's name was not synonymous with the horror genre at one point in time. Jordon is a comedic genius that made audiences laugh for years on end with his sketch comedy and jokes, but when he made his first feature film Get Out, everything changed and Peele allowed all of us inside his mind of horror. With Us telling a dark and spooky story full of scares and violence, Peele has finally delivered his vision of sci-fi horror in such a way that pays homage to those Spielbergian moments that have been cemented in everyone's minds for decades but also furthers the paranoia and understanding of what it might be like to encounter other life on Earth. With his film Nope, the scares are at an all-time high and the tribute to filmmaking and family makes this film stand out above the rest. Nope is a full yes in every category - Scorpion King and all. The color palette is gorgeous, stretching out over the open wild west of Southern California with brown and grey dirt, those beautiful purple mountains, a blue sky, green shrubs and bushes, and of course, a dark and ominous shape hovers overhead. The sequences of the television show with the chimp have heightened colors that resemble a child's birthday, representing bold yellows, reds, and hints of blue. These are striking with an emphasis on the red blood that covers the area. The wind people blowing along the estate are most impressive as well, giving way to the colors of the rainbow. Mystery Man of Myubridge– A deep dive into The Horse in Motion by Eadweard Muybridge, its relationship to the Haywoods, and how it relates to the larger themes in Nope.

It is also slower paced and somewhat abstract in comparison, so in trying for a more cerebral horror, he may have strayed a wee bit too far from what audiences have come to expect.Shadows: The Making of Nope (HD, 56 Mins.) - An utterly fascinating and wonderful look at the making of the movie that is almost an hour long. Jordan Peele and the entire cast and crew talk about the different elements of the film from the inspiration, the animal, the chimp scenes, makeup, visual effects, horror, casting, and working together. The on-location shooting and the horses are also talked about here. This is a must-watch. up every Western terrain around the ranch in every sunlit exterior: horses, dirt, even distant terrain is well rendered. Facial close-ups are wonderful,
