About this deal

I doubt the electronics would be friendly to trying to shove more power through them. Even so, seeing someone attempt to upgrade the blaster would be amusing. Final Thoughts While it’s definitely not recommended to ingest gel balls, you may rest assured that they are non-toxic to both humans and animals. Even besides gel blasters, the water beads are often used as sensory toys or for art and décor.

However, I came across a curious problem. There were a relatively high number of double shots during testing – firing two gel balls still gets velocities over 100fps, but the range and accuracy is hindered. This occurred around once every five or six shots, but seems to be based on how fast you prime the blaster. Slower primes will leave the path from hopper to barrel open longer, leading to that extra round loading. Internals Respect The Wildlife:Young gel blaster players sometimes ask me if they can use their toy guns to shoot squirrels or pigeons, which is a terrible idea. I mean, why? how do they even think about hurting innocent wildlife?! When playing with a gel blaster outdoors, please be mindful of local wildlife. Avoid disturbing or harming animals and birds, and respect their habitats. Show some humanity! I have to hand it to the Nerf Pro Gelfire Mythic – it’s undeniably one of the safest and most beginner-friendly Orbeez guns in my collection. When it comes to child safety, very few gel blasters, like the Surge Gen 3 pistol, can hold a candle to the Mythic. The Nerf Pro Gelfire Legion sees velocities in the same range as the Mythic; I averaged 132fps. For a simple setup (no hop-up), accuracy was decent enough in terms of hitting a human sized target. Slamfire is less accurate, but also much a lot of fun to use. In addition, the shaking inherent in priming the blaster keeps ammo feeding quite well, at least until you reach the very end.

Compact Form

One screw holds the gearbox down in the shell, and you’ll have to remove it before a full disassembly is possible. Inside the blaster, you see all the things you’d expect: a main board with a three-position switch, plugs for the battery wires and the motor, etc. There is a cycle position switch, for stopping the system in the rest position after you let go of the trigger. Nerf really hit the bullseye with this blaster, delivering a perfect blend of performance, practicality, and style. Overall, it’s a top-notch choice for those in the market for a versatile mid-range Orbeez gun.

On a fully charged battery, the Mythic was indeed hitting the ten rounds per second rate of fire that Hasbro claims. That being said, hopper systems on gel blasters aren’t always the most reliable, simply due to trying to funnel all of that ammo down into a single file line. Sometimes that can be due to overstuffing or the angle the blaster is held at, as we saw with the SplatRBall 375M. Other hopper-fed blasters (Gel Blaster Surge, etc.) can also see issues; however, light movement was usually enough to loosen things up. Yes. As you can see, the environmental hazard posed by gel balls is pretty low. You can still mitigate the risks further by playing a bit responsibly. Here are a few tips that I’d personally recommend: Nerf guns are generally better for the environment than gel blasters due to the nature of their ammunition. Those toy guns shoot foam darts, which are less likely to leave residue and are easier to clean up, reducing environmental impact. As young kids tend to ingest everything due to their size and texture, most gel blaster brands make sure that these beads are 100% non-toxic and free from acrylamide. As per FDA, sodium polyacrylate does not pose any significant acute toxicity to aquatic species like bacteria, algae, daphnia, and fish under USEPA toxicity classification guidelines. They even suggest that sludge containing adsorbed or precipitated sodium polyacrylate (concentration 0.6 mg/kg) may be landfilled or used as agricultural fertilizer. TO AVOID EYE INJURY: WARNING: Do not aim at eyes or face. Use of eyewear always required for players and people within range. Use only official NERF GelFire Rounds. Use only clean tap water to hydrate rounds. Do not freeze or modify rounds. Do not modify blaster. Impact from rounds may cause temporary marks on skin. Ages 14 and up. This is not a toy. Read instructions before use for important safety information. The Gelfire Mythic Blaster is a true head-turner in the world of gel blasters. Its design isn’t just unique; it’s practically an attention magnet. But it’s not all about looks; this Orbeez gun is a dream to handle. The handgrip? Pure ergonomic bliss, ensuring you can keep playing comfortably for hours on end.
