About this deal

This felt like only half a book, like there’s a sequel needed to actually experience the romance and them being together😭 Maybe it has something to do with the passing of time that was happening; we’d read two weeks passes, a month passes, “we talked weekly” or “we texted,” but WE, the readers, didn’t see any of this. AND I WANTED TO SEE IT. We only knew time had passed, without reading about any of it 😭 Felt like I was missing out *hmph*

Of course, he needs to be a bit bossy about it but the underlying respect is what’s important. As wild as the premise is, there’s a hook that isn’t just the sex. I thoroughly enjoyed this. I can’t quite say I loved this, not as much as the authors other books. Not because the writing is bad or the plot had holes or I was bored. There was none of that. I wanna live in Cambric Creek because these characters need a stern talking to to get this relationship going lolWell, that was interesting. Is anyone else a big fan of the enneagram? Because that dude is an enneagram 4 if I ever saw one; creative, moody, emotional, dramatic, sweet, feels like he's the most unique person ever, and no one truly sees him. I would not date him. He is a self-confessed manchild who is not ready to grow up. And the romance? Um I guess I liked it but I also was getting some weird vibes from it...I don't know how to explain honestly. I liked the start but it kind of petered- I mean they had some sexual chemistry but overall compatible...I dunno? I mean the h just kind of gives up her job, home, life and goals to just follow him around the world while he keeps living his carefree life and scrapping the baby thing all together. The slender moth still looked as though he were contemplating escape, his eyes casting about, his wings fluttering nervously. Set to be the first in a series, Morning Glory Milking Farm follows Violet, a perennially broke millennial in dire need of a new job. She’s drowning in grad school debt but there are no available positions suited to her skills, and gigs in coffee shops just aren’t paying the bills. So, she does what all humans living in a world where magical creatures are the norm would do: she becomes a milking technician at Morning Glory, a pharmaceutical base dedicated to, ahem, gathering important biological samples. It turns out that minotaur semen is a key ingredient in Viagra, so willing males can donate their ‘material’ for the good of erections everywhere. Violet’s job is to get it into the jars in an efficiently hands-on manner. During her regular sessions, she encounters a regular client who asks for her services specifically: he’s deep-voiced, tips well, and, even by minotaur standards, is f**king huge. Sparks, of course, fly. And other things. Mind out of the gutter, you weirdos.

It was an alright book but I probably wouldn't have continued with the Cambric Creek series if I read this before Morning Glory Milking Farm.

Let's just say Grace was not my favorite. At times I really felt like she wanted the Mothman and other times I felt like she was pushing him too hard to be something she wanted. Not his true self. Lowell is an adorable if not a bit overly needy werewolf who suffers v seriously from Middle Child Syndrome and needs all the attention and praise. Moriah is an independent divorcee looking to pursue her dreams of having a baby on her own. Together they make the perfect pairing <3

What binds together these two angles on monster love is a creative subversion of patriarchy. For me, this is one of the reasons I find monster-f**king stories in general so exciting to read. And believe me, I’ve read a lot. Did you all miss my sexy tall frog-man prestige novel review? Monsters are a fantastical means to dive into our understandings of masculinity while keeping a reasonable distance from its oft-insidious reality. As with all sci-fi and fantasy fiction, the monsters are seldom just monsters. Gosh I love CM Nascosta. Full disclosure we've been mutuals on IG probably since 2020 and I'm on her Patreon. But I would be straight up if I didn't enjoy this book and GODS, I enjoyed it so much. And I really wasn't feeling that her friend who also went to the werewolf clinic was saying how great the sex was when she was basically cheating on her husband. Also- the clinic seemed kinda shady, no?)she was likely to become horny enough to go writhing around on the sidewalk like a cat in heat, yowling and offering her pussy to any passersby that wanted to fill it. Moon Blooded Breeding Clinic was sexy, but I think the idea of knotting was a lot sexier in theory than what was actually delivered. I just never felt a true connection between Moriah and Lowell other than their shared loneliness. Yes, they were sexually compatible, but I’m not sure how much of that was because they actually liked each other versus scratching an itch. The writing felt sloppy compared to the other books I’ve read by the author and there were random word errors and repeated phrases throughout. The plot was on the thin side, and all of the filler, inner monologue, and push and pull made the book unnecessarily long. This author is hit or miss for me, but the premise sounded SO good so I wanted to give it a go!! For a book with this title and cover, you'd expect a really steamy story inside.

There is a mutual connection between Violet’s favourite minotaur (whose name turns out to be Rourke) and herself and he makes a special request for her to be the technician he sees for his appointments.

Moon Blooded Breeding Clinic is the 3rd book in the Cambric Creek series. I’ve enjoyed the rest of the books in this series and then whole community that has been created, but this book was just not it for me. I never skim read and found myself doing that a lot through this one because there is just so many unnecessary details and time spent.
