Love Monster suits babies, tots and kids aged ten months and over. He loves being best friends and lots of cuddles? Give his other hand a gentle a squeeze and he says lots of lively phrases, just like he does on the TV show! We love to watch the Plant a Seed Day episode, and have applied what we learned in that episode to real life. We were kindly given a selection of activities to accompany the Love Monster children’s TV series and one of those was planting cress. L is a plant lover like me, so this activity was her favourite. She keeps an eye on the cress every day watching it grow in her own decorated terracotta pot. The series is fantastic for applying what is learned to real life, it makes Love Monster something special. The Council of Cuteness makes sure the small town runs smoothly (if eccentrically) and its leader is Elder Kitten, who is helped by lots of other Elders, including Elder Panda and Elder Mouse.

Darren Foreman, who plays Love Monster, says: "Love Monster is a fantastically engaging character who has been great fun to play. He may look a little bit odd but his heart is in the right place, and when he’s brave enough to follow it he realises that he can always rely on the help of his friends." Within each episode of Love Monster, there are examples of life learning tips. For example in Plant a Seed Day, patience is a great skill to learn. This is shown in waiting for the seeds to grow. I pointed this one out for us as L has little patience and is always so eager to get on she just can’t wait! Sometimes a little insecure without Monster Teddy by his side, he’s always searching for the right thing to do (even when he doesn’t really know what that is yet), and often gets so full of feelings that all his words come out at once. With the help of his friends he learns to follow his heart, and not his slightly over-thinky head, a little bit more each day. Elder Kitten is the leader of the Council of Cuteness and main host of the hottest breakfast radio show in town.In Fluffytown every day brings something special. It could be an exciting challenge such as Paint A Picture Day, Build A Snowman Day or Plant A Seed Day; a celebration of nature like Hot Hot Day or Shooting Star Night; a community spirited event such as Tidy Up Day, Happy To Help Day or Taking Turns Day; or just plain fun, like Perfect Pineapple Party Day, Bouncy Slidey Day, Picnic Night or Super Fun Day. Little Dottie just loves bright colours and movements. L is really getting into understanding what it was all about. It was fantastic to see them both like the same show. I get a few minutes peace now!

Love Monster is really struggling to choose the perfect epic birthday present at the Everything But Sprinkles store for Bad Idea Puppy. In the end, he goes with his heart. When the weather changes from sun to rain, and everyone's sad, Love Monster decides to ask his friends to do indoor activities outdoors! When he gets candyfloss on his face, everyone thinks Love Monster's an elder. But will he able to handle the responsibilities?Tiniest Fluffiest Bunny is excited for Love Monster to try carrots, but it turns out he doesn't like them at all. Star Trek legend George Takei joins some of the UK’s best actors and voice talent, including Tamsin Greig, Darren Foreman, Sarah Hadland and Javone Prince in the distinguished cast of this warm and charming TV adaptation. In the episode Favourite Library Book Day, the skills highlighted in this are calming or settling emotions before we try. Solving problems and taking responsibility when you think you’ve done the wrong thing. Tamsin Greig, who plays the Narrator, says: "Love Monster has a wonderful warmth and empathy to it. The series shows that by embracing our differences and helping each other we can make things better for everyone, a particularly valuable lesson for children in today’s world."

The first book is simply called Love Monster. It’s all about the little hairy monster searching for love. The second book is Love Monster & The Perfect Present. It’s all about searching for the perfect gift on Present Day, which he is finding hard as everything is so expensive and he doesn’t have enough money in his savings jar. But he has an idea to make a homemade gift. This book teaches us that the perfect present doesn’t have to cost the earth to mean the world. Being thoughtful is encouraged. Love Monster wants to show off his conch shell - but everyone else has unicorn-themed objects for the presentation!At the heart of the town is the Green - a pretty, heart-shaped expanse with an amazing Bubble Tree at its centre, softly blowing bubbles into the sky. Here townsfolk love to gather and many of Fluffytown’s special events take place on the Green. Book Cub’s mobile library and fro-yo van is handily placed here too. The big bouncy castle is nearby, and there’s a lovely sandy beach - perfect for sunbathing or stargazing! After helping Fluffytowners find their lost property at the Lost Things Office, Love Monster loses Monster Teddy and can’t find him anywhere. Rachel Bright says: "It’s so exciting to see Love Monster and his friends in Fluffytown come to life on the screen. The series really captures their charm and humour and I love seeing them go on even more colourful and fun adventures." Love Monster can’t find his favourite book that he borrowed from Book Cub, so he and Tiniest Fluffiest Bunny play detective and retrace his steps to try and find it. Fans of the B.B.C.
