Sailor John is the first human antagonist in the series, excluding P.T. Boomer as he did not make it to the final cut of Thomas and the Magic Railroad. John's particularly dark personality and penchant for dynamite are somewhat similar to Boomer's. Silver Island is a small island near the Island of Fogs with large deposits of silver. The island was owned by One Leg until he lost it to Captain Redbeard in a card game, who lost it later to Captain Ironhook in another card game. The prince once came to La Sabatina personally, partially because of rumors that Governor Broadside had captured a Spanish gold ship.
