Apologies to everyone for the late posting of this review but I am delighted to finally be sharing my review of Heartcross Castle,the latest book in the Love Heart Lane series by Christie Barlow. Thank you to Rachel Gilbey of Rachel’s Random Resources for inviting me on to the tour and her patience in waiting for this review, and to the author and the publisher for my digital copy of the book, which I have reviewed honestly and impartially. Apologies again for the delay in posting and thanks for your understanding. A wrist tattoo looks elegant on every one; this piece will also take minimal time to create and, therefore, not cost much either. A location is an excellent place for a tattoo that you want to see all the time, but because the area has little muscle and fat, getting inked here can cause mild discomfort. For this reason, it is best to choose simple, small designs. Also, it’s important to remember that exposure to this area will likely cause the tattoo to blur or fade faster than other parts of the body. I don't know how Christie Barlow keeps doing it, but she seems to be growing from strength to strength with each book in this Love Heart Lane series.

Christie Barlow has already created so many wonderful characters, and it was lovely to revisit a number of them as they formed part of Grace’s friendship group. That said, the introduction of Hector, Heartcross Castle’s groundskeeper, was a very special element. I could immediately picture him pottering around the gardens. After reading book 2 in the series "Foxglove Farm." I have been following the author. Knowing I wanted to read all the books in the series of love heart Lane series. So far I have read books all the books after and including book 2. Whilst this is number 7 in the series, the book can certainly be read as a standalone novel, as I have done. Although, I enjoyed it very much and fully intend to read the earlier books in the series now. Andrew is a great love interest for Grace, but the romance is secondary to the other bonds Grace rediscovers in this book, and that is the way it should be. As the story progresses we get to truly see who Grace is away from her awful ex. As she travels to Heartcross we get to find out more about her past as well as see what her friendships are like through her childhood best friends Felicity, Allie and Isla.

Andrew her neighbour, well he could not be more different to Grace if he tried. Their first meeting didn't go well when he mistakes her for being the housekeeper! It sort of sets the tone of his characters and shows how out of touch with the real world and everyday life he really is. Running away from home and Heartcross Castle as a teen was something that Grace felt she had to do. Years later she finds herself realising that life hadn't been a bed of roses, but at least she had her three sons.
