In this mythical realm, enchanted, rainbow-hued goo flows through everything! It’s a beautiful world where slime rivers flow and rainbow rain falls, and it’s one full of love and friendship. But many generations ago, GooZonia was threatened by a force, known as the Stone Heart, that turned the goo dull and hardened it throughout the land. The stretchy superheroes protect the magic realm of GooZonia. Queen Ember, Princess Flik and the superheroes juggle getting used to their new powers, royal responsibilities and of course squad goals while preventing the ApoGoolypse! This brand new toy range was launched this month in conjunction with the brand new series, which has been released on Character Kidz Youtube Channel – watch the first episode here. By delivering strong female lead characters, the GooZonians can become positive role models like She-Ra and Wonder Woman.
The GooZonians collection was developed with girls aged 4-6 in mind and brings together a captivating play pattern with mythical creatures, underpinned by a storyline that promotes friendship and teamwork. There are six 7″ stretchy, squishy characters to collect, all born of the mythical realm of GooZonia, where enchanted, rainbow-hued goo flows through everything. Each superhero figure has her own goo filling to explore, as well as a hidden power charm to discover. These charms gave the GooZonians the power to narrowly defeat the Stone Heart and reverse its effects. Fearing that the temptation of using these charms for ill would be too great for some, Cinder hid them across the land. Now the Stone Heart has returned and Cinder’s great-great-great-great granddaughters Queen Ember and Princess Flik must find the charms to defeat it and protect GooZonia from the ApoGoolypse! The toys are great for children who love tactile toys because they are squishy and stretchy. Each character has a different filling and they are either made from a firm but stretchy glucose or a much more squishy material filled with liquid. Their heads are hard plastic and can be rotated so they can look different directions. Inside each character there is a hidden charm to look for, but you’ll need to stretch and squeeze them to look for it. The characters stretchy clothes can be removed and switched between characters if you want, but I think this is a bit fiddly and that they look better on the right one. I’m worried about how far the toys will stretch before the break, they really are super stretchy and squishy, but I'm sure if they have a limit my children will test them too it. Cora is filled with small hexagonal sparkles in pink and orange stretchy glucose. Her key Traits are enthusiasm and creativity and her charm is a shell Roxy The toys are so tactile and calming to touch, and with sensory toys being so popular at the moment I am confident the whole range will go down well with children of a similiar age.

Isla is an avid surfer and animal lover and the most environmentally aware GooZonian. As a result, she’s become the Royal Steward of the eGoosphere. The discovery of the characters’ charms is central to the storyline of the animated launch webisode, which aired on YouTube on Saturday 21st May. Views are already at 1.5m and are still growing. Isla can read animals body language and sense their feelings.Her key Traits are that she is easy going, independent, optimistic yet forgetful. In-store, more than 750 fully-branded FSDUs will showcase the range at its best. Character Options will also be ramping up its product-focused awareness campaign to help drive sales, with a TVC across girls 4-7 channels as well as a YouTube pre-roll campaign that will deliver more than 2m views. Magazine advertisements will be published in kids’ press over the coming months, with a readership of 1.3m girls aged four to eight.

Queen Ember can be overcritical in times of stress, especially towards her sister Princess Flik.
The heads of the dolls are hard plastic which is great on the one hand as they have great detailed features – BUT and this is a big BUT…. You do have to be careful as if play gets a bit energetic then these dolls can be catapulted so be careful with that. This launch coincides with another first for Character Options, the firm’s first child-facing YouTube channel, Character Kidz TV, which has been branded in-line with the company’s annual Character Kidz event. Mark tells us that the Goo Jit Zu crossover was inspired by seeing girls playing with the brand. “We know the play pattern isn’t purely for one gender – ASMR, sensory and fidget toys appeal to everyone,” he says. “Girls don’t necessarily focus on crash and bash fighting play (although we’ve observed plenty that do) but they do respond to the power of a good storyline. By delivering strong female lead characters, the GooZonians can become positive role models like She-Ra and Wonder Woman.”
