About this deal

The Auto Loop feature on the pads works similarly to the Auto Loop with the push encoder. You’ll have 8 different loop values at your fingertips here, and parameter arrows to cycle through loop lengths.

Also included: several key updates to Rekordbox Video, an expansion offered in a previous update released in tandem with the DDJ-RZX. The new features include: All the knobs and buttons feel reliable and durable. You’ll feel comfortable giving this controller everything you’ve got. Pioneer have worked closely with Serato to produce a piece of high quality hardware that would provide an effective and efficient link between them both. The DDJ-SP1 has dedicated controls for all Serato DJ’s features: Performance Pads: sixteen rubber Performance Pads are assigned to seven modes: Hot Cue, Roll, Sample, Slicer, Auto Loop, Hot Loop and Manual Loop. The LED illuminated pads’ Velocity Mode lets DJs control the sample volume with the amount of pressure they apply. LED illumination on each pad gives DJs an instant visual reference for the state of play. An excellent controller expansion for Serato DJ and wonderful pad-based controller for any MIDI-mappable DJ software

Rekordbox Video Gains Features

While you can potentially use the DDJ-SP1with virtually any software, as long as you know how to map things out according to the templates provided, Pioneer created this machine for Serato. The DDJ-SP1 can be used as a fully assignable MIDI controller and supports all kinds of MIDI-compatible software. The MIDI assigning functions means that you can send controlling information to external devices and access your DDJ-SP1as a controller.

Pioneer seems to have something for everyone in its collection of powerful controllers and add-on tools. For those who want to transform their Serato DJ Pro experience, one particularly compelling product is the Pioneer DDJ-SP1. If you’re more of a fan of the Rekordbox software offered by Pioneer DJ, you’re not limited to Serato either. The DDJ-SP1 also supports Rekordbox access. Also included in the update are several stability features for using the CDJ range with Rekrodbox, including the latest CDJ-2000NXS2 and the CDJ-TOUR1. As mentioned above, the Pioneer DDJ-SP1 from Pioneer isn’t a standalone controller, but it can add a lot of value to your existing setup. Earlier this week, Pioneer DJ announced a significant update for their Rekordbox DJ library and performance software. Most notably, this update stabilized the fledgling DJ software compatibility with the latest version of Mac OS, Sierra, as well as offered Rekordbox DJ support for the Pioneer DDJ-SP1 performance pad controller when combined with another supported controller. What Makes Our Sales Engineers Great?

The pads deliver a very similar drumming quality to the DDJ-SX. You get an excellent level of stability and firmness here, and you can play on the pads rapidly without worrying about damage. While the Pioneer DDJ-SP1 price isn’t as huge as it could be, compared to other Pioneer products, it doesn’t come with Serato DJ as standard. Like the forerunner that came before it, the DDJ-SP1 withstands the unpredictable environment of the DJ booth, with a stylish yet durable aluminum faceplate. Serato DJ Intro and Serato DJ have been renamed and are now known as Serato DJ Lite and Serato DJ Pro, respectively. Add the DDJ-SP1 to a set-up that supports mixing and scratching with Serato DJ – for example a laptop, or timecode CDJs/turntables with a DJM-900SRT mixer – and use the pre-mapped buttons and dials to trigger 6 samples, 8 Hot Cues and more than 30 FX Powered by iZotope – without the need to touch a keyboard or mouse.
