About this deal

We're 2 floors up and there has been a new cat outside, theres usually one hanging about, my neighbours feed it even though it has a home near by but recently there has been 2, i didn't think it would be the reason seeing as the cats don't come into our building and my cats don't go outside...but my hubby has just come home and said he thinks the cat outside was spraying against the cars so im guessing even though i can't hear it or smell it that my cats can. Cats have developed certain preferences over the years and some can have dietary preferences! Encourage them to eat by warming their wet food, which can lose its tasty aroma when kept in the fridge; room temperature may be sufficient. Give your cat some peace and quiet at dinner time as they often prefer to eat alone. Ensure their bowls are cleaned after each use and do not smell strongly of detergent. It is important to encourage cats to drink plenty of water and keep well hydrated. Keep food and water bowls separate. Place water bowls in multiple places around the house; avoid putting them near litter trays or in busy areas that your cat might not want to visit. 4. Height The EU-registered strain Enterococcus faecium (DSM 10663/ NCIMB 10415) 4b1707 du pathogenic bacteria within the gastrointestinal tract and the faeces, thereby limiting bacterial colonisation of the perineum. Idiopathic cystitis — stress and dietary changes can increase the risk. Many cats will have repeated episodes, but we cannot predict which cats will have relapses. Causes of stress can include multi-cat households, abrupt changes in routine, new pets and territorial disputes.

Mannan-oligosaccharide (MOS) - created from purified yeast cell walls, MOS is commonly used as a prebiotic to support intestinal microflora. Normal healthy bladders have a layer of glycosaminoglycan (GAG) coating them. This layer protects the bladder from direct exposure to urine. Urine activates sensory nerve fibres which the brain perceives as uncomfortable. CystoPro contains Proanthocyanidinsnc, a naturally occurring powerful antioxidant extracted from the North American cranberry. Type A PACs have an anti-adhesion effect, which means they help re-attach to the bladder lining. Most cats will normally have another episode, but there are steps you can take to limit this possibility. Stress reduction is the best way to prevent repeat problems. How can I reduce my cat’s anxiety or stress?A healthy bladder has a protective glycosaminoglycan (GAG) layer to protect it from the urine. Cystophan for cats preserves and protects this layer and helps reduce the irritation and stress associated with Feline Idiopathic Cystitis.

Reduce stress. Pheromone diffusers such as Feliway and essential oils diffusers such as Pet Remedy can help to relax stressed cats. Where stress may be caused by children, other pets or other cats in their territory, ensure your cat has somewhere he/she can avoid conflict. If necessary place curtains or blinds to prevent other cats staring into your house. Provide scratching posts and allow time for your cat to play. Stress is thought to be the most significant cause of cystitis in cats, so there is lots owners can do to help Stress is thought to be the most significant cause of FIC in cats. This is because anxiety has been proven to cause a special layer of the bladder which protects it against the harsh chemicals in urine to become patchy. When the tissue of the bladder is exposed to urine, inflammation can occur. Cystophan is the first nutritional supplement to provide this combination of ingredients. Reducing the number of products your cat needs to take. There are many risk factors identified for cats with FLUTD, a combination likely plays a role in the development of the disease. These are:Probiotics - (Enterococcus faecium) reduces pathogenic bacteria within the gastrointestinal tract thereby lessening the risk of ascending urinary tract infections of faecal origin. Proanthocyanidins are naturally occurring powerful antioxidants extracted from the North American cranberry. Type A PACs have an anti-adhesion affect, this means they help to reduce the ability of certain bacteria to attach to the bladder lining. Keep litter trays, and food and water bowls are out of the line of sight of other cats - remember that neighbourhood cats may be visible outside a glass door or window. Although they might have always done this, cats who are feeling under the weather may take issue to things that they have previously tolerated. 10. Supplements It is important to protect the urinary tract health of a cat. Cats can suffer from urinary issues for a number of reasons including stress, poor diet and bladder conditions. Created from purified yeast cell walls, Mannan-oligosaccharide (MOS)ce binds to receptors on bacterial fimbriae, which prevents attachment to epithelial cells. MOS is commonly used as a prebiotic to support intestinal microflora.

Clean litter trays. Providing an adequate number of clean litter trays (one more than the number of cats) with the litter the cats prefer, in quiet, safe areas of the house. Initially administer according to the guidelines below for at least two weeks. For long-term maintenance, administer according to the guidelines below: Obstruction. If an obstruction of the urinary tract is detected in the cat, initial emergency treatment will be aimed at relieving this under anaesthetic and hospitalisation for intravenous fluids. This involves placing a urinary catheter up the urethra to allow the bladder to be drained and flushed. If a catheter is unable to be passed, surgery to shorten the urethra may have to be carried out. If your cat has had an episode of obstruction, we may prescribe muscle relaxants to prevent spasm of the urethra and reduce the risk of further obstructions. Pain relief. Anti-inflammatories and a morphine related pain killer are often used for cats suffering from cystitis. If bacteria are detected, antibiotics will be prescribed and the entire course must be completed. Try to reduce your cat’s stress levels. You know your cat best and what might cause them to be worried but there are a number of general things that you can do to help. Hiding places can make cats feel safer. For example, boxes or covered space in each room. Pheromone therapies, such as a Feliway or Zenifel diffuser, release odourless calming pheromones, which help cats to feel reassured. Unfortunately, feline pheromones do not have a positive effect for all cats but are very safe to use and definitely worth trialling.

N-acetyl D-glucosamine - reinforces the structure of the Glycosaminoglycan (GAG) layer that lines and protects the sensitive bladder urothelium. A strong, resilient GAG layer prevents bacteria from adhering to the urothelial cells.

You could also try him with a little goats milk as a change from broth, but go cautiously as some cats get a loose stool from any kind of milk that contains lactose. i'll finally get to my question which is, does anyone have any experience of this, it's not classed as a medication but as a supplement, i asked if i could gradually wean him off of it and they didn't know, the vet said she hadn't used it herself and to ask the nurse who dispensed it, the nurse said to ask the vet...has anyone used this been able to wean their cat off, i really don't want Finn taking anything he doesn't need and he's only 2 years old, to take them for the rest of his life seems a very long time...i know i can read up online but i'd rather take advice from someone whos used it and knows exactly it works.
