Lawson, Mark (26 March 2009). "Chris Moyles Quiz Night". The Guardian. London . Retrieved 9 April 2009. Plus he has done this interview to promote his show. “I don’t really do interviews any more because it’s just pointless,” he says. “I don’t really get anything out of it. Some people have already made their mind up about you, and whatever it is they want to say, they’re going to say it. I did a piece once, years ago, and when it came out, she was really snide. And right at the end, she goes, ‘He’s actually all right though.’ And you go, ‘You know what? What can I do?’ You can’t change people’s opinions. On 12 January 2010, hip-hop trio N-Dubz appeared on the Chris Moyles Show on Radio 1. The show received a text message from a female listener saying that band member Dappy was "vile" and "a little boy with a silly hat" and that N-Dubz were "losers". Dappy secretly copied her phone number from the studio console and sent abusive and threatening text messages to the woman the following day including one telling her she was "gonna die!". [77] Moyles said of the resulting criticism: "I feel let down by him, I've supported them and said, 'Do you know what, N-Dubz aren't just a bunch of dippy chavs, they're really good'. So for him to go and do something like that is a bit rubbish". [78] Tax avoidance [ edit ] In March 2009 Moyles released a parody song called "Dreaming of Debbie McGee". The song was about a man who has recurring dreams of the assistant on The Paul Daniels Magic Show. Comedy Dave wrote the song, and Paul Daniels asked for it to be made into an MP3 file after hearing it on air. It was a parody of the Kings of Leon song " Revelry". In April 2009, McGee recorded a reply which was played on air and was a parody of the same song called Dreaming of Moylesy.

Today, Moyles likens what happened to a comedian’s standup show; specifically, Jimmy Carr’s. Carr got very heated when a line of his was quoted as an example of bigotry. Carr said that yes, that was exactly what he said, but the context had been completely removed, the build-up, the journey of performer and audience. There are three things you need to know about Chris Moyles, that he immediately needs to ram down your throat: Radio 1 Programmes – The Chris Moyles Show, Monday – Mika comes in for a chat". [68] Stonewall gave Moyles the award of "Bully of the Year" at their annual Stonewall Awards that same year. [69] [70]

Well, when I was at Radio 1, I had the same competition I’ve got now – everybody from Capital to XFM. And when you’re on in the morning, everything’s competition. Having a lie-in is competition, putting the telly on is competition, getting the bus, not having enough 3G – everything is competition. You can drive yourself mad thinking about it, or just do what you do – get a good show.” Moyles launched a new show on Channel 4, called Chris Moyles' Quiz Night on 22 March 2009. The show consists of Moyles alongside three other celebrities partaking in a traditional pub-style quiz. The original series had the four competing to win an item that belonged to Moyles but this has since developed into a more traditional quiz with the loser singing karaoke-style at the end of the show. The opening show received poor viewing figures attracting just 6% of total audience for the timeslot. [29] [30] It was continued for a second series between 26 February and 11 April 2010, a third series following between 1 November and 22 December 2010 and fourth between 15 July and 2 September 2011. [31] After 5 series, the show was shelved. Swash, Rosie (15 January 2010). "N-Dubz's Dappy sent death threats to BBC Radio 1 listener". The Guardian. London. I thought that it would be easy. I mean, look at the facts. It's only writing a few words. Ok, there are 70,000 words, but how hard can it be, right? And it's also my favourite subject: me. Write a few words about myself, put in a few pictures and there you have it. Easy. As we say on the radio, piece of piss. Wrong." Church’s comments come in the second episode of Burke’s new two-part documentary on ageing, in which she considers whether sexual maturity is the point at which people become adults. During the programmes Burke talks to showbiz friends Jennifer Saunders and Bill Bailey, as well as meeting a dominatrix in her 70s who took up the job in her 60s, when working as a chef became too physically demanding.

Brook, Stephen (3 November 2006). "Mail on Sunday writer wins gay journalism award | MediaGuardian". The Guardian. London . Retrieved 1 January 2012. But what did he want to do? Well, after the Superstar tour was over, he wrote a pilot episode of a sitcom, about a washed-up radio host who wasn’t on radio any more and had no money and had to share a flat. He wrote far too much and the BBC turned it down, but he went to Los Angeles and met a few people who were encouraging, and since then he’s written three film screenplays and two sitcoms. He finds it hard – he doesn’t enjoy the planning, just wants to start writing dialogue – but “my writing’s got better, and they’re all just sitting there, these scripts. It’s not like it’s been a massive waste of my time, it’s just not been very lucrative.” Find sources: "Chris Moyles"– news · newspapers · books · scholar · JSTOR ( December 2018) ( Learn how and when to remove this template message)
