If that’s a sensor and metric that matters to you and you prefer a more advanced heart rate monitor, the Amazfit Band 5 is the one that can delivers those. So what is actually different? The Amazfit Band has a slightly larger case, but in essence should feel similar on your wrist. For activities like running, pool swimming, indoor rowing, core metrics are on the whole reliable. Both devices are better suited to 20-30 minute workout time as opposed to running or cycling for hours if you crave optimum accuracy. It's not an always-on screen, though the raise to wake gesture was pretty reliable for us. Visibility is good on the whole, but you'll need to crank it up to the maximum brightness setting in brighter outdoor daylight based on our experience. The Mi Band 6 features a 125 mAh capacity battery just like the Mi Band 5 and that should get you up to 14 days in typical usage and 20 days in power saving mode . In our heavy usage testing, it was 7 days. If you turn off more power intensive features like continuous heart rate monitoring, you will get longer.

What we found with the Band 5 is that it's a bit of a mixed bag in terms of what you can expect. When we took it running outside, you need to launch the app on your phone first before it can establish a GPS connection. Like the Xiaomi Mi Band 5, it's quite refreshing to see modes like indoor rowing and the jump rope mode with the offer of activity specific metrics.
I’ve struggled with the notification options on an Amazfit watch before, so I set my expectations low. But I was pleasantly surprised by the Band 5’s notification system. I could customize which phone notifications I wanted pushed to my wrist, plus whether I wanted to preview their contents. I could even decline phone calls if someone rang me mid-workout. You will of course get a bigger display on the Mi Band 6 to fit in more information on single screens and to make the watch faces at your disposal look a little nicer. hour monitoring of heart rate and blood-oxygen saturation (SpO 2) need to be enabled in the Zepp App. For heart rate monitoring, the user must enable Auto Heart Rate Monitor in the Zepp App, and the minimum value can be set to 1 minute. Abnormal heart rate alerts and the preset value need to be set in the Zepp App. To measure blood-oxygen saturation (SpO 2), please wear the device tightly at one finger-width from the wrist, and keep your arm still for best results. SpO 2 alerts are sent if the detected rate is too low compared to the preset value, which needs to be set in the Zepp App, at a minimum of 80%. Movement, and environmental and physical characteristics can affect speed and accuracy of monitoring and measurement. The 24-hour stress level monitoring needs to be enabled on the device or in the Zepp App. Alerts for high stress levels are based on the preset value, and prompts for the breathing exercise need to be enabled on the device. Smartwatch features are level pegged too with both using the Zepp companion phone app on either Android and iOS devices.

I only got 8 days out of my unit, but I worked out several times, which could've chip at the band’s rated stamina. It’s clear if you value or like the idea of having a smart assistant to talk to like you can on an Apple Watch or a Fitbit smartwatch, the Amazfit Band is the one that’s going to have more appeal.
