Its design has changed a little from the original game, as have the designs of the Splat Roller and the Splattershot.

The weapons all vary so much that playing through one level with a Roller will feel completely different if you switch up to the Charger, or the Slosher, or the Dualies.

Then fog falls, making it difficult to see anything at all, while on another wave night descends and enemies move at double or possibly even triple speed. To some extent, I suppose you've got a point about things that should already have been in there in the first place, but on the other hand, you also have to take into account that making a shooter was something entirely new for Nintendo, so they were treading on unknown territory.

And even though I can understand your point, personally, I'd like to look at things from the glass half full perspective.

And despite some questionable choices that can leave you trapped in matchmaking purgatory, the addition of a standout and clever take on a co-op horde mode provides some seriously addicting fun that has me coming back for more. If the DLC is purchased separately, other users on the same console can also play the Splatoon 2: Octo Expansion content as long as the console is set as the primary console for the Nintendo Account used to purchase the DLC.
